the mainstream media is dying.

tv cant compete with google, youtube and netflix.
radio cant compete with podcasts
print journalists cant compete with a million bloggers.

as they die , they try to keep a bit of cash coming in by sensationalising

catastrophic covid.
unprescedented bushfire
america on the brink of civil war.

we are biologically wired to pay close attention to threat and to ignore things once they are functioning well.

hence why no on will kneel before their fridge and reflect on the miracle of ample food
but a few nutters in america burning a few cars feels visceral.

the media want to scare you and outrage you.
those emotions are addictive.

politicians also want to scare you and outrage you.
they want you addicted on them.

fear and outrage however make it almost impossible to pursue a goal.
you bounce out of bed hoping to just "survive ' and to just "cope".

if you dont have a goal when you bounce out of bed, you will drift and you will experience virtually no positive emotion.

we were meant to carry a load
to face danger and to solve problems.

to be confronted with

lockdown
a media hell bent on destroying your emotional state
fear of some pissy little virus that you cant see and have no possible way of detecting
a media and politicians who practice nothing but identity politics and tribalism.


man, i think it has never been harder to get on the narrow road to success.

i think it will be the majority of young men and women who will end up anxious, depressed, angry, bitter, resentful, useless, fragile , frightened and unproductive in years to come.

the food they eat to provide short term pleasure and the media they watch to feed their emotional addictions will see the majority of people living the life of

pure garbage.

there is a way out from this fog of the umthinking masses.
it involves setting yourself a north star and then ignoring everyone who is trying to feed you and your brain BS food and BS ideology

About 30 years ago the sunday papers wrote an article on me in sport section.

They stuffed up the facts big time I took the paper down to the club to show other members starting with a few of the older members.

When I brought the paper out and mentioned it they looked at me and laughed then said- "You don't believe everything you read in the paper do you?"

We had fake news 30 years ago we still have fake news on a much bigger scale today.

Hence 'crisis management' - the management can't function unless there is a crisis, so in the absence of one, they will create one...    sort of Business Munchhausen's ....
