they only phone the most stupid people who are more likely to hand over their cash ...

I usually "press 1" to talk to the operator but they always hang up before I can abuse the crap out of them.

And you wonder why they keep ringing you?

The only unwanted call we've had on our landline in the past month was last Wednesday evening at nearly 7 o'clock. I only found out when I checked the phone a few hours later.

Googled the number and it was a survey. Not sure why they would be using an 03 number to call people in WA but there you go. Unless they really were in Victoria which would be most unusual for these types of calls.

Good old Telstra Call Guardian, the phone doesn't even ring for unwanted calls, best home phone I've ever bought.

The only other unwanted calls we've had prior to that were about 3 attempts from our own number over a period of about 2 weeks in April. The scammers will try anything to get around call blockers, etc. these days.

Found out I can block our own number as well with the Call Guardian without affecting anything else so I did that after the first 2 attempts (which went straight to the answering machine and they immediately hung up).

I only blocked our own number because I was concerned that my 90 year old aunt may have answered it if I wasn't there at the time.

They had rang me a number of times before I started pressing 1 etc, so that sfa to do with getting numerous calls.

For scam calls I blow a whistle, loud. It's satisfying.  Scams are getting less frequent. But it needs care for genuine callers..

I get these missed calls from Serbia, Congo, etc it just rings once.
I constantly block those numbers, but they keep ringing with new numbers.

With the land line, which I have to have for adsl, I would get calls from overseas.
I complained and reported to my telephone company, they blocked countries from ringing my landline.
It’s been peaceful ever since. Changes the dial tone though.
But they can’t do it with the mobile phone ... dang it.

I hardly ever get such calls anymore.

And I go on and on, when I use to answer such calls. They hang up within the first minute and hardly ever call back again. Cheesy

Getting NAB emails saying that my internet banking needs updating. Wonderfully inept scam considering that I do not have an NAB account. Had received some Netflix robocall for some reason. I do not have netflix.

I had one of them on my mobile. You get charged when you call the number back. Aldi refunded to charge to me, and it hasn't happened since.
