ignorance as a substitute for truth

This is some interesting logic from John Smith. Apparently not knowing whether something is true is all the evidence you need that it is true. He is making the same argument in two different threads on two different topics.

Can anyone make sense of his reasoning?

You seem to confuse your tactics with mine. I was a part of that thread, thats how I know.

So which version of events is true John? You know what was in the thread that got removed because you were part of it, or you have no idea because you were not there?

Would you say this is yet another example of you getting caught out making things up? Will you own it this time, or show off some more of your elaborate tapdancing skills?

Or do you still not understand what is going on?

Both are true FD. I can only speak about what I see, not what i can't see.

How does a "press ID" clearly identify anyone if it is just something dangling from your trousers that people make for themselves?

I know that press id's are usually issued by law enforcement. I can't speak as to the specifics of this guys press id.

I would say that from the original post it looks to me that john was part of the topic and confirmed that there was nothing nasty posted about Gordy's wife while he was on the topic, also saying that he does not know what may have occurred between his presence ending on the topic and it being deleted he would not know. I wouls think the logic goes without saying. Maybe more a confused position that a real contradiction.

On the premise of Ignorance as substitute for truth I feel that John is consistently not in this very real group. There are 2 or 3 posters who are almost exclusively in this camp.

So John never argued that not being able to speak about what he didn't see makes what he said true?

Remember, this is after many posts of me trying to explain to him that he did not know whether it was true and was thus making it up. So it's not like I took advantage of his momentary confusion. He is actually employing some kind of considered logic here, across multiple threads and multiple different topics. I for one am interested in an explanation of how it works.

ie, John's ignorance makes it true.

Curiously though, if you ask him other questions about the thread, he cannot say because he wasn't there and doesn't have a clue. How does he pick which answer to give?
