Is it safe to say this is going to be 'the new normal' for the next 3 months? (at the least). Groovy! I just have a few conditions.
1 Award me with all the bludging goodies you promised me when you hysterically forced me into redundancy.
2 Don't bug me about not looking for jobs that aren't there.
3. Don't change your do-gooding minds about me drawing my super tax free.
4. Don't ask me to vote/fill out a census/take part in any government information gathering excercise that invariably will not have options for me to voice just how much I hate the Australian government.

Dr. Ferguson is a character of Shakespearean drama and tragedy. His March 17 presentation to British elites on the dire need to take action ironically may have infected Boris Johnson and other top British officials, as Mr. Ferguson himself tested positive for COVID-19 two days later. Then in May he resigned in disgrace after he broke his own quarantine rules to meet clandestinely with a married woman.
But I don’t place most of the blame on people like Ferguson. If you are a hammer everything looks like a nail. I blame government leaders for failing to surround themselves with diverse viewpoints and to think critically for themselves."
Of course our government will never admit to faulty modelling. They will simply tell us that they were advised by the experts and they did what they had to do.
I wonder if Ferguson was one of the experts.
In another article, ZH questions at length the fact that there is no proof that lockdowns work.
I wonder if any studies of the results of lockdowns due to pandemics have actually occurred.

Australia & New Zealand listened to their Medical advice and decisions, NZ more so.
The rest of the world only so-so or not much at all.
That's how much they haven't taken this seriously, or just plain can't afford to because of a poverty more deadly than our own SELF-AFFLICTED poverty here in the 'Lucky' Country.
Australia was the first where their Politicians 'gave the people money' as support with an agreement of Stimulus into the Economy, especially Australian products.
I know a number of people who do everything in Australian 'only'. They are still well off.

In Sweden at one stage if you were over 60 years old with a preexisting condition and you got Covid, there was no ICU bed for you.
Most people over 60 have a preexisting condition.
That is a health system in the early stages of being overwhelmed.

This idea of herd mentality is allowing the virus to kill anyone it wants.
We survived thousands of years and lived to about 38 years old.

Hubby hears on radio, reports that since the lockdowns, people are saving more than ever.
So this savings habit, may go on for a while with all uncertainties still about.
I can’t see shops selling much without peoples confidence in check.
Things will not be the same after usual, not for quite some time.
With constant reminders of corona this, that, and the other!

I see normal flu numbers are down, thanks to distancing and disinfecting of everything. Good to do a thorough clean up as such.
Which means less sick days off work... oh that’s right, not many are back at work!

It takes a month to break old habits and form new ones.
Mine are....not shopping anymore, keeping away from crowds, cooking more, no pokies.
And somehow, not bothered to go back to that way. I have adjusted to my new normal! I would not be surprised if many feel that way now.

Heck, I even stopped buying online because of lengthy delays for deliveries. Put me right off, so that’s another habit changed.

I do not know anyone personally that had Covid-19.
Even my elderly rellies in their 80s and 90s in California, are all okay.

Just stepping aside from your real estate a minute Graps, I noted that, only 4 cases of Corona infection in Oz.
And lo and behold, one in Queensland!
Dear lady premier, don’t be smug thinking your state is pristine and uninfected.
Or that opening up your border would undo your state, it’s still amongst you, drip drip drip, and may never be zero forever ever!
The hospitals are well equipped now.
What’s the problem opening our borders to each other now?
