So this just came up on my facebook feed.

The original post with 162 likes is an image. The post with 15 likes is not attributed to anyone, not a "sponsored post" etc. Strange.

I did a bit more digging and it appears it was caught in fishing nets near Tunisia. The species (Delphis?) is rare in the Mediterranean. Not sure if the people in the photo are the fishermen or the marine authority. Not sure if it was 'released'.

I went and checked his fb profile and saw this translation on his page.

Clarification
After some pages passed a picture of me with the dolphin aboard the boat I wanted to point out that the dolphin found him in the sea, a veteran of the sign rope and he was dead and we took pictures aboard the boat and then returned to its natural place sea
And all the claims that the dolphin is a living is without health and contrary to all the claims we as a crew express our grief when we feed dead marine animals and strive with effort and commitment to preserve our marine wealth on all the coast of the tunisian beaches

It sounds like the crew were saddened to find that dolphin dead, probably tangled in fishing rope of some sort.
They put that dead dolphin back in the sea as feed for other sea life.

That’s my take on it.

So it may have already been dead (drowned)
But in the end we don't know what the context was.

That's one of the things I hate about social media. It encourages you to judge things and people without knowing what the context is.

It is common practice for people to circulate "shaming posts". I refuse to get involved because i don't know the context or the circumstances. Especially where there is an agenda involved. You can guarantee the only reason freediver posted this is that the "shamee" is Arabic
