you don't have idiots thinking their right to go to the beach over rules public safety

fd, maybe you should move to SA. Then your problem is solved

You don't catch the virus from sand John.

it's not the sand that's the problem fd. It's the idiots who insist on being on it because it's their 'right'

Most of those new infections are caught person to person transmission in hospitals by inpatients and health workers.
Where is a list of where these infections are occurring???

how do you know?????..

do they test everyone who uses the beaches?....

maybe you think we should throw caution to the wind...

dont forget  we have no idea how those who have recovered will have a real clean bill of health.......

do we know if they will have any long lasting issues????? Angry Angry

I am suggesting we not throw common sense to the wind. The whole beach thing is based on misleading photos being pushed by clickbait 'journalism'.

and yet you do just that Cheesy

The Media is already trying to stir up discord with the Australian Public. 60 Minutes tonight should show you how the Media works it up.
Apparently Australians are 'already' tired and are wondering when they can go outside and 'their' business interests can restart. NRL is already projecting.

Nothing wrong with 'preparation' - with every industry brainstorming, as are businesses, for when they do get back to normal. Shows a great 'advantage' of fine tuning the Economy to adjust to the New Future. Those that don't 'make plans' - will be left at the starting line and fall behind.

But to say that things will be back to normal before Winter is gone is just pure stupidity.

I did Traffic Control once (in a city) and there was always the odd 'I'm important' driver (mostly  a Trucker or a Rich person in a BMW or Jaguar like Longy) - who thought themselves 'above the stopped traffic' and just shoot through... which always resulted in a greater problem and prevented access to both ends of the traffic. They'll howl and bite as to why they have their 'Rights' to push through. But they just made things worse for everyone else.

So sit in the traffic, wait for instruction and HTFU!
And don't let 60 mins stir up a false sense of 'entitlement' prematurely.

Being a 'Penal Colony' surely you lot can do better than this? Huh

What worries me is how do hospital workers:
doctors & nurses especially -
get Covid-19 when they wear expensive PPE?

in the right environment, the virus can survive on some surfaces for 4 or 5 days, even longer if the climate is right. It can survive in the air for several hours.

they wear PPE only  when dealing with patients, not when they're on their own in their offices, with other staff or during their breaks.

It means the virus is insidious -
hiding everywhere just waiting to kill its next victim.
Not even expensive PPE can stop it.

Having worked in Respiratory wards.
Any 'Virus' can be transmitted via AIR-CONDITIONING systems from one part of the hospital to another.
So I may have full sterilised PPE attending a sick Covid-19 case. Then still get the Virus from my tea room on floor 2 a few hours later in my usual uniform.

Outdoor Hospitals (Tented) have always been the best form of Hospitalisations for Respiratory - down through the ages.
Air Conditioning beyond a tube down your throat is not good - unless you can CONTAIN that Ward entirely with its own self-sufficient oxygen and air supply.
