Sorry - but I still don't think that evading and side-tracking knowledge of paedophile activity is the same as actually doing it. In THIS legal system, only the charge can be answered....and I still say there is not sufficient evidence to convict him of personal paedophile actions.

If there is a charge for condoning, aiding and abetting - charge him with that and get on with it.

Somewhere the Church has to accept responsibility for the evils of its priests - and accept responsibility for not acting......

Now is about the time... but not with Pell.... not on that evidence.

he wasnt the POPE he wasnt instructing all Bishops to cover it up.. he was doing what every other Bishop was doing around the world Protecting the Church..

now of course everyone of us know the appalling damage that eventuated but really its the Vatican that should be on trial...

I dont seriously believe this man is/was a paedo.....I dont know why but I dont...did he cover up of course he did...not for his own benefit though......I believe if he was, another Priest especially one who had been charged and found guilty would has pointed to him....

even priest dont like going down alone if they can help it..

the evidence in his trial was so flaky

it will be interesting to see what these judges have to say about it.

Don't overlook the opportunists who make false claims in the hope of getting financial rewards.

It is easy to make a false claim and hard to defeat it especially a long time ago.

Recall that sheila who claimed Bill Shorten raped her - she was possibly hoping for some reward. In the end Bill had high power lawyers who reduced it all to he said she said.

So Pell's legal eagles will be probably doing the same.
