We celebrated Barack Obama as the first black President of the United States but the Romans beat them to it with Septimus Severus over 2000 years ago.

Not so really. You toed the Roman line or else. Why did the Jews revolt? Why were the Druids wiped out? What happened to the Celtic religion of Europe? Why were 2/3s of Gauls killed or enslaved by Caesar? What happened to the Dacians, the Carthaginians?

Well, we don't really know, do we? Afterall, the victors write the history and of course the Roman histories are about 70% propaganda to justify what they did... Roll Eyes
