Indeed. Aloso there seems to be confusion about engines EVs also have engines

Yep. And they need fossil fuelled power to build. The copper in the windings is enormous.

I guess that's where all the billions in subsidies in coal goes to. Too hard to just invest that inrenewables to change over.

Yep. First you need backup generation. And batteries don't store enough to do that.

That SA battery costing 90 million to power 30,000 homes for one hour. I will let you do the maths for the number of homes in SA to work out what size battery to power them all for one hour. And that's only residential not business.

Victorian EVs would effectively be lignite powered. NSW EVs would be mainly black coal powered.
