literary celebrity says - Merit should be criteria

A WOKE contemporary literary celebrity says - Awards should be given based on merit, not race.

And he is immediately criticised and 'shouted down', by the 'tolerant', 'entitled', 'liberal', LEFTIST mob.

WWW search....
Liberal Stephen King Gets Woken Up and Social Justiced for Claiming Awards Should Be Given Based on Merit, Not Race

Yeah, its just wrong!  ...that merit should be the basis for social acclaim and advancement in any healthy, sane society.

It should be understood, that the paramount virtue which we should all be promoting in society today should be, "Every child will get a prize - for effort."

/sarc off

And unfortunately, the entitled 'me!' demographic today, is constantly demonstrating [by their behaviour] just how demented, and NOT sane, many individuals [in modern society] are !!

.

Quote:

A simple definition of SANITY/INSANITY.

Typically, an unrestrained sane person will act in ways which are harmless to others, and in ways which are creative, and productive [for himself, others, and society].

And typically, and conversely, an unrestrained INSANE person will act in ways which are harmful and destructive to himself, and, or, others around him.

Ah well, at least King made his fortune long ago and can afford to move somewhere the money will stretch whilst still providing him a luxurious lifestyle

not so for all those far more deserving (imo) writers, painters, composers and varied artists with demonstrated talent who will never earn a crust from the skills and natural talents they've honed --- because they weren't the 'chosen' sex or colour or race or religion

yet still they toil by candle light, producing masterpieces which will go no further than a corner of their one room

and while the proven talented and skilled answer job-ads and grind away on low wages if any, those of no talent or skill at all will be feted by the 'woke' and clinically insane

Nevertheless, nice of King to join the ranks of others who've pointed out the Emperors naked and lardy fat rrrse

but no amount of truth can change a thing

the demons are hitting their stride now with their insanity

and who is allowed to point them out or level against them valid criticism

Don't hide your talents beneath the bushel said the Lord.  But that was back before the demons blackmailed, bribed and threatened their way to control

The most privileged
The most pampered
The people who have had the most advantages in life
Are undoubtedly the Hollywood elite

And yet they wish to portray themselves as the champions of those who have been oppressed

You can't be a member of the oppressor class
And a champion of the oppressed at the same time

Their lack of self awareness is breathtaking

You're attributing way to much living cerebral matter to the creatures of 'hollywood', unless you're speaking in code (as we're forced to do these days)

Affirmative Action isn't the province merely of 'hollywood'.  It cuts across all artistic endeavour and that include architecture, education, town planning even

It's an agenda posing (too successfully) as 'social justice'

when it fact it's a satanically-inspired process of destroying as much good/merit in the world as possible

True talent is God-given
Skill is the reward for hard work

Affirmative Action is the agenda to raise the worthless at the cost of worth

Hollywood is merely a collection of pimps and whores and the idiots who patronise both in order to further spread diseases on those stupid enough to patronise filth posing as 'entertainment'

Is this like Fox News where they quoted a sarcastic comment from a conservative after Vince Vaughn spoke to Trump at a football game that Vaughn should be cancelled and then went into full outrage mode, even though it didn't come from anyone on the left?

Here's the thing, he's right.

Awards should be based on merit.  Is there anyone on the left not saying that?

It seems like the Right is arguing with themselves again, injecting their own outrage for the left...

Ok.  Let's not allow this to degenerate into more left/right crap

King is right in all he said.  So has that been established?

Now how to reverse the 'everyone gets a prize' philosophy so prevalent across the board

any ideas?

This pretty much sums up how I feel on the issue.

King is right, but who is saying he's wrong?  If you don't want to talk about left or right that's fine, but the OP was to try and attack a certain group by getting outraged over comments or a stance that isn't shown.
