yeah he is even doing the google stats  to make his argument relative.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

his comparisons are always odious ..

here he is mocking 47 people either dead missing or in fearful pain    from a possible once in a lifetime tragedy..

.....with an unbelievable comparison...

only an odious person would stoop to that level bobby...

leave him to it!

The only people being mocked are you and Bobby.

Why don't you care about the 300 people killed on NZ roads every year?

If they were all killed on one day, and the news footage was played for weeks afterwards, would that make you more compassionate?

I'm curious.

take your crap to films.. its much better suited there..

I think this topic should stay on topic..

its to hard for idiots like you to comprehend...

I used top think you had something relevant to say..

not any more your another bri bri all you do is REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT yourself....

sink lower if you can.....as per usual another thread buggered by the worst troll on the forum

Deaths on roads in NZ from 2015 to 2019 = 1,657

Deaths in volcanoes in NZ from 2015 to 2019 = 16

"tourists should be kept away forever".

If you really are curious, research how many trip/person/days there are on NZ roads/year and divide by the number of deaths.
Then do the same for visiting White Island.  Get back to us with the answer.

If you are just trolling Bobby that's fine, he thought a new Ice Age was coming.  But if you really think you have a case here, you have no facts at all.

Standing by on Channel 16.

...

Edit: Just googled to find that 10,000 people visit White Island each year.  That's a death rate this year of 160 per 100,000.   Sounds risky.

cods baled out (as usual).

So I'll ask you.

Why don't you want tourists (and locals) kept away from New Zealand roads?

The roads are far, far more dangerous than the volcano.

300 people a year die on NZ roads - how many die in the volcano?

Dear Greggy,
There is a fallacy in your argument.
Road rules apply which state for instance
that you cannot exceed the speed limit.
In the same way certain volcanic areas
can be visited and others are off limits.

The fallacy is all yours.

You say you want the government to stop people visiting the volcano because it's dangerous.

We all know for a fact that NZ roads are thousands of times more dangerous than the volcano, yet you aren't demanding that the government stop people from using them.

Why do you only care about deaths in a volcano?

Don't the 334 deaths on NZ roads this year matter to you?

Is it only people you see on popular news stories that you care about?

Arent you against gun ownership? Roads kill many more people than guns. Lets give everyone a gun.

Being on NZ roads is thousands of times more hazardous than being in a NZ volcano.

What part of that don't you, Bobby, cods, and rhino understand?

Take you childish stupidity elsewhere.

And learn some basic maths while you're at it.

Deaths on roads in NZ from 2015 to 2019 = 1,657

Deaths in volcanoes in NZ from 2015 to 2019 = 16

SH2 from Katikati to Tauranga: 18 deaths, 35 serious, 95 minor

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2017/08/nz-s-most-dangerous-roads-rev...

and that's only a small section of that highway .. travel further up and down and the death rate increases

l do agree with one thing you said, even if you didn't realise you were talking about yourself ..........There is no excuse for deliberate stupidity Grin Grin

more people die in beds than anywhere else..

how about we ban beds while we are at it..

seeing as thats far more important than anyone being maimed or killed...by a volcanic explosion.

I'm not the one wanting to ban anything, cods.

Nor am I saying what's more important.

You are.

What I want to know is, why you want to ban something that has only killed 16 people in the last few years, but don't want to ban something that has killed 1,600 people.

So ... ?

More details have emerged about the team tasked with retrieving the bodies of those killed in the White Island volcano and the tough conditions they faced.

Seven members of the Defence Force’s SAS E Squadron and their commander boarded the HMNZS Wellington and made their way to White Island at first light on Friday morning.

They were wearing three layers of protective clothing and a 15kg breathing set.

The eight then transferred from the Navy ship to the ash-covered jetty by rigid inflatable boat.

New Zealand Defence senior officer Colonel Rian McKinstry said he “feared for them”.

“ … but there was no sense that (the soldiers) had concern for themselves and that risk,” he told the NZ Herald.

He said the soldiers bodies were drenched in sweat and their lungs were gasping for fresh air after the retrieval of the deceased.

“One soldier told me that he was down on his hands and knees taking in air,” McKinstry said.

“He looked up and everyone else was doing exactly the same thing.

“They were exhausted, the physical toll was just severe dehydration.

“There was also a strong sense of relief … they were relieved that they had gotten the job done.”

McKinstry also revealed members of the mixed male and female elite team were involved in recovery efforts during the 2011 Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster, Christchurch quake, and March 15 terror attack.

“Tragically, they all have some experience in this type of work,” he told the NZ Herald.

“But none of them had experience in wearing that kind of gear for two or three hours on an active volcano.

On Monday, the team reunited for a debrief.

The unit’s commander, who could only be identified as Matt, earlier this week told local media when they reached the bodies in the crater they hit dense mud.

“It was unbelievable, not a condition we train for or ever expect to operate in, it’s just so much hotter than you could expect,” he said.

New Zealand Tourism offers spectacular factory-fire visits for extreme tour-sports.  Leave your ID with Police and foot-wear is optional.  Traditional fire-walkings skills are easy with our helpful instructors. See how many selfies can be snapped before smoke shuts you down.
