Whats The Current National Minimum Wage?
Nov 8th, 2019 at 6:00am

$19.49 per hour   Huh
What is the current national minimum wage? The national minimum wage is currently $19.49 per hour or $740.80 per 38 hour week (before tax). Casual employees covered by the national minimum wage also get at least a 25% casual loading.

Highest national minimum wage in the world

Businesses have a duty to their shareholders to maximize profits
This is a legal duty
Why cannot have businesses breaking the law by employing overpaid workers in Australia

It is a moral and indeed legal obligation of businesses to shift as much work as possible too grateful efficient and more economic foreign workers
It is also a moral obligation of business leaders to push for as many 457 visa holders can be given work

As Greg constantly points out we must not break the law

And why is that do you suppose
could it be that houses are very expensive to build in Australia
Could that be because the workers who build them
The truck drivers who deliver the goods to the building site
The public servants that approved the plans
The guys to connect to the NBN and the electricity and the water are all on the highest wages in the world

If everybody building a house is on the world's highest wages
You are going to construct the world's most expensive house
and then you are going to have to charge the world's highest rents to cover the cost

So white night is going to see the cost of houses and the rents become even more exorbitant

It's important that you attack white night for this sort of reprehensible behaviour

What the bugger are you talking about?

What reprehensible behaviour?

All he's doing is telling us what the minimum wage is.

He's not asking for it to be raised.

Do you actually read posts before you comment on them?

He's providing us with important information, and you're telling everyone that he should be attacked for it.

MODS?    Undecided

Spot is pointing out quite rightly the housing is becoming unaffordable in Australia

If we are able to lower the national minimum wage
It will become much cheaper to construct housing
The young people will be able to afford mortgages
And the homeless people will be housed

It is a national emergency to provide affordable housing for our citizens
It is important that white night and yourself recognised this and a lobby for a lowering of the national minimum wage
Will you join myself and the other noble businessman in this quest

So why did you say:

It is important that we attack these ideas
We would never advocate violence against white night

White night and Gregory merely need to be re educated to see the error of their ways

A higher minimum wage makes everything more expensive and then the poor citizens at the bottom suffer terribly

When the minimum wage is too high for food processors then the poor citizens at the bottom cannot afford to eat
When the minimum wage is too high for bus drivers then the poor citizens of the bottom cannot afford to travel

It is paradoxical that it is myself who is being a champion for the poor and downtrodden
White Knight and yourself need to reflect on the fact that you are doing the oppressing of our poor citizens
You should reflect on this minimum wage argument for about 5 years

Whiteknight merely reported on what the minimum wage currently is.

At no stage did he, or I, say that it should be increased.

Yet, you say he should be "attacked for this sort of reprehensible behaviour".

What the bugger is wrong with you?

Seriously.

I must apologise in that situation
if white night is calling for the minimum wage to be reduced to a more sensible level of say $15 an hour
And this will certainly lower the cost of living

White night
Congratulations on your call for the national minimum wage to be reduced to a sensible level

I am not calling for the national minimum wage to be reduced.  What I am calling for is an end to wage theft.   Sad

Anyone who whines about the high minimum wage and wants to lower it should also expect average rents to fall by the same percentage.

Nobody can afford rent of $350 a week with a $500-a-week minimum wage without living in abject poverty. No, we do not need more millions of working poor.

Rents will have to fall, housing prices will follow, and this will bring on an economic downturn, maybe even a recession.

Not paying the minimum wage is breaking the law you smacking idiot....But it is revealing to see that the typical Coalition scum bag thinks is important to maximize the profits of foreign Multi Nationals whilst driving down wages and conditions in Australia to support profit over people....Let Aqua's bullshit rant be a warning to anyone stupid enough to vote for the Coalition....These new free (workers) trade deals are undermining our wages and conditions with the blessing of the Coalition and it's supporters....You have been warned!!!
