ADF in disgrace

Written May 2018.
Quote:
There is no doubt in the minds of many that leadership in the ADF has been replaced with social engineering lunacy as one supposed leader after another abandoned common sense in favour of PC nonsense.  The latest to dazzle us with his questionable judgement is the newly appointed chief of the ADF General Angus Campbell.

General David Hurley got the ball rolling when as chief of the ADF he sacked Major Bernard Gaynor, a veteran of three deployments to Iraq, because he was openly opposed to the politically correct erosion of our military standards that resulted in uniformed participation in the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and the associated attacks on the Christian religion. After installing this craziness into the ADF, Hurley toddled off to become the Governor of NSW.

Then along came General David Morrison. You remember him, he was the one who became Australian of the Year and ponced around on women’s high heels while calling for equality for women in the ADF.  As a result of such nonsense our ADF now boasts downgraded fitness requirements for women in the front line and the recruitment of women in place of those terrible blokey white Anglo/Australian males.

Following on was Vice Admiral Ray Griggs. His claim to fame was to not only have an affair with a sailor’s wife but to have her promoted to the rank of Commander.  Unlike ol’ Barnaby, who eventually stepped down, Griggs doesn’t even show that much class as he hides behind the protection of an investigating panel that refuses to release the details of his illicit affair because they are private matters.

Griggs is another of our fine military leaders who has never heard a shot fired in anger but wears an unbelievable shirt full of hardware.  Of the fifteen medals he wears only one is for active service while six are foreign awards handed out by Indonesia, United States, France, Singapore, Philippines and Spain. In addition and not surprisingly, he is a supporter of the LGBTI brigade.

That brings us to the latest display of exceedingly bad judgement on the part of an ADF so-called leader. General Angus Campbell is about to become the top dog of the ADF despite a list of questionable decisions that would see the records of a junior officer marked not fit for promotion.

First cab off the rank is the appointment of an Army Reserve officer, one Brigadier Kathryn Campbell.  Brigadier Campbell took three months leave from the public service to become deputy commander of Joint Task Force 633 Middle East and Afghanistan.  Many would question the wisdom of appointing a reserve officer with no battle experience to a command position in a war zone.

As Chief of the Army General Angus Campbell ordered an inquiry into the SAS based upon rumour, hearsay and conversations. The Inspector-General posted an advertisement calling for people to come forward if they had heard rumours or heard others talking about the actions of soldiers on the front line in Afghanistan. Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith ripped into the Inspector-General and Angus Campbell when he said, “When have you heard of a judicial process initiated off the back of rumour? It’s a joke. We should be looking after our soldiers not persecuting them.”   At the time of a parliamentary committee hearing on the 25 October 2017 this witch hunt had been running for 17 months based upon unsubstantiated gossip.

Next came Angus Campbell’s latest brain-snap when he decided that it was terribly wrong for our service personnel to be wearing “symbology” portraying death. Seemingly ignoring the fact that a soldier’s job is to engage and kill the enemy, Campbell says, “This is not where we need to be as a national institution.  As soldiers our purpose is to serve the state, employing violence with humility always and compassion wherever possible. The symbology to which I refer erodes this ethos of service.” The Sydney Daily Telegraph got it right when it said, “There’s your new army slogan: “Employing Violence with Humility”. It’ll probably sound less stupid in Latin.

It appears to have escaped General Campbell’s notice that he himself wears the Infantry Combat Badge that displays a bayonet.  The bayonet has one purpose and that is to kill and maim.  Is this befuddled General going to ban that badge too.

General Angus Campbell seems to favour focusing on gender issues instead of concentrating on our reduced military capabilities within our own region.  Last year Campbell addressed a Defence Force conference on recruitment at which time he said, “The number one priority I have with respect to recruitment is increasing our diversity, with a focus on women and indigenous Australians.”  In summing this up Cori Bernardi also took into account the issuing of Halal rations to our troops when he said, “This demonstrates just how our military has been captured by minority interests and appears to have suspended the application of common sense.”

Thank God for Trump. He is definitely NOT Politically Correct.
Hopefully more Trumpism will spread out to Australia and infiltrate the ADF - where digging a trench means calling a Spade a Spade, not a Spade a 'technologically advanced digging _________________' (can't use the last word as it is no longer a 'correct' word and is offensive to all the Ant Experts and Amateur enthusiasts of the World).

Politically Correctness is where Politics shoots itself in the foot, like arming a lot of non-Military amateurs with guns and because there is no 'War' against an enemy - these 'armed amateurs' are now shooting 'anyone' in their own country. This is what happens when the Jews ended up arming the Moslems against the world, by their own inaction to take responsibility themselves.
As Politics & Military in North America are an act of 'Personal Empowerment' for the top Position (President, General-etc)
- all else becomes weaker and more 'corrupt' and 'wrong' the further things get from these two top positions. So having a bunch of Amateurs being armed - you know its just plain wrong at it will blow up in their faces!  Roll Eyes

Australian Military (and Politics) are the reverse (culturally 'backwards' myth cliche) - in that the 'Empowerment' (and what is respected by other regions) here is in with the lowest rank, in other words - the Highest Rank in the ADF is 'Wrong' and the 40,000 Privates are 'Right'.
It's right up there with Women in Sport doing a more 'empowered' job of it by being 'Professional', unlike the Men who are not.

Don't expect the ADF to 'work properly' at the highest ranking admin level, especially in the face of competing against the UK & USA away from 'dependency' on the orders of these two. Much like the Gov-General serves the UK, the PM serves the USA (Like a ScoMo 'grovel' $$).

Put your faith and effort behind the low ranking troops of the ADF. Both the Military and Political industries will 'fall' here in Australia if the bonds of the UK are cut (by the UK) and the bonds of the USA are denied (by the USA).
The dumbing down and destruction of the Australian Military will fall into the 'Privatised' Man with a Gun, let alone 'Councillor of Law' in your local Shire. Australia will be all the more safer for it.

Don't worry, other industries besides Politics and Military will lead this country to great wealth through the hands of just 'One' Person in the highest of positions and jobs.

Religion - an Australian Religion will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes of the Military and an Art Giant will show the world the 'truth' of the matter here, in this country.

Citizen Initiated Referenda?

It is not law in Australia.  The last time it was introduced into the Senate at the federal level was in 2013.  It lapsed.   It was not passed or even voted on.

The problem with attacking the ADF because it has decided to adhere to what it's Government instructions are is that it misses the point.  The ADF is required by law to undertake what it has been told to do.   Blame the Government(s) by all means but don't blame the ADF for doing as it's told.  Roll Eyes :Wink

The ADF should be reflective of the society that it defends.  Society has decided there is nothing wrong with Gays serving in the ADF.   When I served, there were known Gay soldiers - their Gayness was ignored by their superiors as long as they did their job - as it should be.  It does not prevent soldiers from being soldiers or airpeople from being airpeople or sailors from being sailors.   The homopbobia displayed is a problem for the homophobes.  They are the ones who have to get with the message.   Ditto for misogyny and Racism and Sectarianism.   They are all problems for the holders of those views, not for their victims.  Roll Eyes

They have served since Federation with the Australian services, hidden from view.  Since 1996, they have served in the ADF openly.   I hadn't noticed a collapse of the ADF since then, have you?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Under the 'Presets' strategy.
Going to war against China will be like rolling a bowling ball against skittles as Australians will have to fight 10/1 for a good batting strike rate.
Shoot one, kill 10. Australian's will attack the Chinese Army like Sharks to a Baitball, while everyone gets their dibs in.
All tanks, planes, ships and vehicles will breakdown after just a year's use by China. Cheaply made like the lowest grade of quality.

According to whom, Bobby?  The ADF has had gays in it's ranks (openly) now for approximate 25 years.  Before that, they were hidden but they existed.  I knew several of them when I was in the Army.  Their superiors knew they were Gay.  As long as they did their job (and kept their homosexuality hidden) they were ignored.  They were good soldiers.   Roll Eyes
