The NDIS should be seen for what it is
A job creation scheme

Say a disabled person was getting there neighbour or sun to come and mow the grass
That doesn't really create any jobs in the economy though it is very efficient

by having lots of public servants in Canberra organise lots of occupational therapists to go and visit search people
By then encouraging businesses to set up to interact with the public servants and registering the scheme
Do then have these businesses employ people as certified mowers of lawns
2 then have a system of checks and balances
Forms to be filled in
Insurances to be paid
Police checks to be made
First aid courses to be done
Continuing learning and education to be organised
Checks and balances
More ot's physios and social workers to be driving around the countryside interacting with the people on the NDIS who are really just a node through which new nonsense jobs are being created

Well you can see that the NDIS is really just a gigantic expansion of nonsense jobs along the lines of work for the dole.

And if a disabled person says I would rather have my son or neighbour continue to mow my lawn and take me shopping
The bureaucrats will say
No way we are allowing that
That doesn't create any jobs for our clinical masters in Canberra to brag about in parliament

What a load of bullshit....Where do you get this crap from mate....The disabled deserve to be respected and allowed to contribute where they can....This is about enabling and empowering disabled people to have a fulfilling life and take some of the burden off families who have looked after their loved one's despite the hardships and struggle they endure daily....I have the utmost respect for those who make the sacrifice to care for the disabled and no respect for dickheads like you who think mowing the lawn is covered by the NDIS or in any way relevant!!!

Getting emotional doesn't solve the problem of finding the HUGE amount of money that NDIS soaks up.

There is only so much money available and it has to cover the other WELFARE + drought relief + infrastructure build + cheaper power + security +...

How was the Chinese Labor Party going to find the money ?

Chinese Bribes in return for closing down Australian companies ?   Stealing retirees' and pensioners' income ?   Huge increases in TAX ?

The NDIS is specifically not for relieving the burden on families.

I don't know where you get your information but anyone who cares for a disabled family member will have some of the burden lifted by the NDIS....Respite and support workers are essential once the disabled leave school and cannot be employed....You have no idea do you???

Respite is excluded. Anything that would typically be done by family members is still required to be done by family members.

No its not. Its called respite. And FD is 100 percent correct. Anything that would typically be done by family members is still required to be done by family members. And thats just about everything except personal care. The NDIS is a shambles and a huge waste of money, all it has done is create a huge bureaucracy sucking up the resources intended for the disabled.
