Trump has a hotel in Turkey. What else could you expect him to do?

a cheap shot Aia.......people are dying  I find it appalling...

It's not a cheap shot at all.

Trump only cares about Trump.

He couldn't care less how many people die, as long as his financial interests are protected.

sounds more like cover your arse shortarse than trump..

btw   the yanks have brokered a deal with Turkey   giving the kurds 5 days to leave the 20 mile zone...

it isnt Trumps fault if this doesnt work   and from where I am sitting he is the only one prepared to do ANYTHING.. to prevent more bloodshed...

From where you sit.  Gawd.

Why should the Kurds or the Syrians run away from their own territorial border?  If the Turks want a safe buffer zone, they put it inside their territory.

The Kurds aren't Arab, are they even allowed to be there? Huh

Well he sent a letter. And now hes stated he intended the slaughter to continue for a while before he separates the combatants like fighting children. Exactly how he intends to do that we do not know but from his record it appears hes threatening economic sanctions against  Turkey.  No word on the mustard gas used by Turkey against civilians including children but Im sure he will say something about it and call the Turkish Prime Minister a bad man. Definitely a man of action. Lets not forget he actually invited Turkey to slaughter the Kurds, all part of his genius master plan I would suspect.

Trump Invites a New Killing Field

Trump’s betrayal of the Kurds isn’t just immoral—there’s no strategic reason for it.
By FRED KAPLAN

Quote:
It is hardly the first time that the United States has betrayed the Kurds, but President Donald Trump’s announcement on Sunday—that he’s pulling U.S. troops out of northern Syria and allowing the Turkish army to mow the Kurds down—is particularly shocking (even the Turks were surprised) and harmful to U.S. security too.

The likely consequences of Trump’s actions are not some unforeseen side effect; he acknowledged, and even welcomed, them explicitly. A statement released by the White House noted that Trump spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by phone. It then went on:

Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will no longer in the immediate area.

In other words, Trump was telling Erdogan: Come on in. You’ll have an open field for killing.

For several years now, through the Obama and Trump administrations, Washington has relied on the Syrian Kurdish militia as the most potent fighters against ISIS, also known as the Islamic State. About 11,000 Kurds died in that fight. Now that they’ve played the lead role in ousting ISIS from its territory, Trump is abandoning them.

Syria does, and Turkey are claiming a 20 mile zone of Syrian land....Other dictators and despots have made nice with Trump and then stuck up their middle finger once they realize he will do nothing but cut and run once there is conflict....Turkey, Syria the Russian's and the Kurds will not listen to a gutless bastard like Trump who has done nothing to warrant any respect and is known to back down when he is ignored....The Turkish President threw Trump's nasty letter in the bin....This will turn to crap and you lot will blame everyone but the dickhead (Trump) who created this mess by ignoring everyone apart from the dictators and despots he sucks up too!!!

The Muslims are the only ones who are losing in this conflict, "such is life", while the US have a ringside seat.

The Kurds were/are American allies in  the war against ISIS. It appears the Turks are now using chemical weapons against  Kurd civilians. Trump has hung them out to dry, shameful. But he sent the Turkish PM a letter.

The US are not the Kurds babysitters, how long would you expect them to be babysat for anyway, a thousand years!.

If the kurds were just step back from the border a tad which everyone but the Kurds are happy with, then they could tend to their neglected goats and pray.
