THEY GOT FLOGGED IN A FINAL.

Grin Grin Grin Grin

Hardly any teams get 'flogged' in Finals.

Germany FLOGGED Brazil in Final. Cheesy 7-1 !!!

How any team would lose 58-0 in a finals football game is beyond belief. You don't lose by that much in a final without playing poorly.

I expect some heads will roll down at the Broncos....58-0 for what is supposed to be the best two teams in the league is embarrassing!!!

They are nowhere near the top two teams. The Bronco's should have not made the finals - they scraped in on the benefit of a few shonky refereeing decisions. Bronco's will be better next year.

Parramatta look good every time the opposition give Mosses room to play and they have no plan B which is terrible strategy because they do have the talent to use other options. The better teams should carve them up for being too one dimensional.

True. You can tell the teams that were helped by shonky Referees/Umpires/etc.
Come Finals time - they are extremely poor performers and play like a Division below.

The Cowboys v Storm Grand Final was one such example.
Thurston forever crying he gets robbed in Finals. Well, Cronulla (would have been another Sharks V Storm GF) got robbed so blatantly out of being in a GF, but the Cowboys seemed to get there easy-peasy.
Come GF and the Storm didn't need to try hard, as the Cowboys just capitulated!  Roll Eyes
It was almost as if the Storm paid the Ref's a lot of money to make sure the Sharks were not in the GF again and got to take on a Team that should not have been in the Finals.

Right up there with a Don King special 'Take a Dive' Match  Tongue Roll Eyes

A thought for the Bronco supporters and players:

It is the bad years that make the good years so great.

Not that making the 8 is such a poor season in reality.

Indeed, making the top 8 has to be a good year

Losing by 10 points in finals football is bad enough. Losing by 58 points, including not scoring any of your own, is downright lamentable.

It happens, the way the game is played now if a team gets on top mostly due to the bounce of the ball and the referees it can turn out real ugly.

I was lucky enough to not see this game.

Penalties could mean the difference in how a close game eventuates. A good goalkicker could put 4 penalty goals to make the game out of reach in the last 2 minutes of a game. THAT is what you can blame on a referee. Yet, it is unlikely that a referee could make 4 errors that result in penalty goals.

But, most points were scored from scoring tries. Tries don't eventuate from bad refereeing. And you cannot say that all the tries were the result of bad refereeing. Possession of the football, making the Broncos defend for most of the game, can lead to the Broncos tiring and leading to the Parramatta scoring.

"The Broncos did not show up" was the assessment of the game.

Yes.
The Referee or the 'Bounce of the Ball' was not a factor in all those tries scored.
Brisbane played well below the level of this year's Wooden Spooner ever played this year.
They played like a Division below.
It was an absolute shocker and not the sort of game you would want to promote the game to other nations. The opposition played well, but didn't have to do much against a Brisbane team that didn't even turn up to try.

That's a DIVE in Boxing and even Soccer.
And most dives involve $$$ behind them.
