From the original thread -
A list posted by Monk with no source and manufactured
in Photoshop with Monk's writing.
I thought I'd investigate one of Monk's claims at random
and I tore it to pieces.
The above news got a mention on the latest Adapt2030 video:
Jump to 4:08He says "only 3 of the last 20 years have seen this much snow."
Where is the mention of 60 years?
Where did Monk's list come from - no link.
In other words - Monk has lied.
I only checked one of Monk's claims and it's a lie.
The source article which I used and David quoted was here:
It says
"Only three of the last 20 years have seen this much snow measured at Spencers Creek during spring.
These were in 2019, 2017 and 2000."
Therefore - Monk is a liar.
I am the author of the chart that Monk has shown, I sent it to him over Twitter and am also the owner of "adapt20301" on twitter - debunking Davids' BS.
You said - where does be mention 60+ years? Go to timestamp 4:41-4:47 in the video and he says, and I quote: "a feat that has only happened 3 times in the last 65yrs".
This is blatantly wrong.
The chart I pulled together was taken from the Snowy Hydro Depth Measurement Website, anyone can visit it and see that the spring snowfall is not at all unique, not at all related to GSM and not at all noteworthy.
Oh and for the record, that graph was done on my phone lol. Not photoshop. Why would anyone create that in photoshop? Do you even know what it is for?
That's the problem.
timestamp 4:41-4:47 is not exactly what Monk said.
Monk never gave the time stamp info.
I was forced to try & find what he meant.
I don't know who he is.
I had no way of checking that.
So - I quite rightly debunked what Monk was writing.
that's all I was asking him to do.
I hid the thread.
