THIS is conservation

Man who paid $584,000 to kill rare rhino argues he was helping species
The 29-year-old rhino was interfering with breeding by younger bulls and harming population growth, according to documents from Namibia's Ministry of Environment and Tourism.

Peyerk's payment was to be earmarked for rhino conservation, and the rhino's meat was distributed to rural communities surrounding the park, the ministry said.

The Elephant Population plummeted when all the large 'Bull' Males were shot by Poachers for their tusks.
(There are no longer any 'Long Tuskers' alive anymore)
With nothing but 'young males' around - the increase in violence between the males fighting it out caused stress levels in females to rise in that their 'breeding' capacity was compromised.
The Herds were going crazy and no new generations were being born.

The Elephant Population plummeted.

In New Zealand Spear-Fishing and Fishing. The Big Breeding Males are thrown back into the water or not speared. New Zealand has got to be one of the most productive Fisheries in the world.

Do you think there's a lesson there in breeding out the tinted races, FD?

Cull the old bucks and watch their women get all hysterical.so they can't produce. Arabs, Negroids, Arab/Negroid subspecies, the lot.

A plausible theory, no?

Sad as it is there are still about 20 - 21 large tuskers in existence ..... most of which live in Tsavo National Park in Kenya.

And they are not immune to poaching with 2 large tuskers named Satao & Satao2 killed with poison arrows in 2014 and 2016 respectively.

Just because a male is a large tusker doesn't mean he doesn't have to compete for/battle it out for females when the sexually reproductive bulls come into "musth".

Quote:
Musth or must is a periodic condition in bull elephants characterized by highly aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones. Testosterone levels in an elephant in musth can be on average 60 times greater than in the same elephant at other times. Wikipedia
