Of the billions of humans on the planet I'm willing to accept a few outliers who can function on significantly less calories than most, but the ones who claim to be able to use some kind of woo woo energy for sustenance is pure fraud.

As you said, if there was some mechanism where it worked there would be no starvation and our drive to gather resources to feed ourselves would be almost nonexistent.

Also, many species of animals would be able to do the same.
