If someone keeps following another poster around in every thread they post in, attacking them and not even bothering to comment on the thread topic, surely that falls foul of the "Personal Criticism" rule,

I'll post some recent examples here. Most of these posts do not make any meaningful contribution to the discussion but are mostly personal attacks.

I have posted excerpts from juliar's last 25 posts to highlight the personal attacks. 16 posts out of the last 25 have personal attacks of some kind, 15 of them directed at individual posters. These are posted over a time span of 23 hours - less than a day.

The posts have been trimmed for brevity. Click links where posts have been marked as snipped to see the posts in full.

When will the moderators do something about this flagrant abuse?

Mate, it all started between us when I was agreeing with you about Hydrogen as a fuel source, but I didn't agree enough, mentioning NASA and investing in them on say a Mars mission to help the tech of using sunlight to harvest H from water (or frozen Ice as would be the case on Mars) leading to the tech advances that would end up in our industries and even cars and homes.

But no, because you've got such a hate boner for climate change, and NASA is in on the "conspiracy", you attached me and from then on you don't even bother replying to posts or touching the topic, you just insult me or anyone you disagree with, gender-swapping us in your replies, claiming we're all greenies, getup members or should go to Hillsong or whatever rubbish you spout.

It's flat out harassment and your constant whining like a little bitch over and over is shutting down threads and ruining entire topics and in some cases like in the Tech forum, entire forums too.

I don't know what your problem is but we've all tried being nice to you and you respond, well, just look at your last 25 posts.

The evidence is there for all to see.

You can't pretend to be the victim here. You're just lucky the rules of these forums aren't actually enforced.

It's better for everyone if you're just ignored, so I'll be doing my best to continue to do to that. If I don't you'll only drag me down into the sewer with you, somewhere I don't want to be.

This poster is not making a positive contribution to the forum. Every time you check the last 25 posts, roughly half of them are inane drivel attacking other posters and not addressing the topic. This poster is so disruptive that with personal attacks that it is killing the forum.

When will the moderators act?

Ignoring does no good.

It's better to enforce the rules. This particular poster relentlessly flouts the rules with an average of roughly a dozen personal attack every day. The sheer volume of abuse from this one poster is risking the future viability of the forum.

The abuse isn't just personal attacks. It includes spamming the front page of the Politics forum with posts in a range of threads to push threads it doesn't want discussed off the front page, and mass posting of copyrighted content from paywalled sites without attribution. This latter could get the forum shut down if the copyright holders launch legal proceedings for copyright infringement.

Only a permanent ban is appropriate. I've seen plenty of others suspended or banned for far less.

I think you show yourself for what you are and allowing you to do that is a good thing. So much for those of us in middle ground, who come here for some sort of informative discussion and instead become the objects of puerile abuse.

No great need to wonder why I rarely bother logging on, let alone contributing here. The moderation policies are too lax and in-effect they often impede and sometimes prevent rational discussion.

Yeah, but since that sort of behaviour is apparently acceptable, I won't hide from it and every time that shitstain feels the need to follow me around and not quote anything or address the topic, but instead just throw out insults, I'll try to ignore him but every now and then I'll just insult him back reminding him of the wretched merkin that he is, you know for the cathartic release, then go on my merry way.

Actually, that's not a fair retort as he posses neither warmth nor depth, perhaps I can have some fun and be creative.

It appears I have left a trail of destruction as my jealous followers go into subjugation.

A triumph for the poster of FACT and TRUTH.

The mere expression of trivial uninformed views and guesses is not very useful unless backed up by authoritative information.

How many threads degenerate into trivial pointless copying of a previous post with some irrelevance added. Or blatant repeating of GetUp! propaganda as GetUp! is the Political Propaganda Arm of the Labor Party. Or absurd ranting of crazy Greeny propaganda.

I post relevant discussion which is backed up by the facts. This is a pretty effective method as it angers the DARK side no end.

Others try to copy my effective methods with limited success.

Also I am aware that everything I post can be seen on a Google search which I use to good effect to spread the word amongst the general population.

The fact that the voters chose strength and reliability suggest I am on the right track.
