But can it 'perform' as advertised ?
I would wager, that Australian defence specialist scientists would be unable to develop and produce a truly functioning missile defense system.
Why so ?
Such undertakings are not within the capability of our intellectual 'DNA'.
....we, today, in 2019, are a nation of defeatists, and drug addled 'losers' and appeasers.
....imo.
Are you sure our scientists could not develop such a system?
The first British ATGW was the MALKARA missile system - developed by the Australia WRE.
The most successful British naval SAM was SEACAT, which in turn was developed from MALKARA.
Run along, Yadda. Your trolling has failed.
And traditional Surface to Air Missiles seek what type of target ?
A.Aircraft.
Too easy.
All they need, is to have the ability to successfully approach the near vicinity of an aircraft, and then explode an intense shrapnel warhead.
Missiles travel at much higher velocities than aircraft.
And would be much more difficult for a traditional SAM to 'connect with'.
trivia.....
When i was in high school, i lived very close to WRE, in Salisbury North.
I knew two persons who worked on that base.
