I'm not saying our current LNP govt is or has been 100% at doing anything constructive except for their own mates in business ... but don't forget that's also Chinese business ....

and that also applies to the other major party as well.

But lets see how well the Melanesia Spearhead Group go at defending their brethren in West Papua from the Indonesian colonial grip.

It's just been empty rhetoric so far.

PNG has already sold them out by taking money from the Indos .... and the Indos are courting with cash many other nations in the group.

So it's not just the Chinese.

You're totally wrong there Gonads. I don't know where you get your resources from but the Melanesian islanders like Solomons, Vanuatu, New Caledonia (not Fiji), Timorese, Balinese, Borneans and other Indo-Indigenous Peoples along with PNG and the West Papuans are more than doing talks now that the Philippines has showed interest in joining - even the Fed States of Micronesia are gonna chip in. All of them against Islam, not Indonesia.
Even now - the Indonesian Government has little reign on Moslem fundamentalists and 'Gangs' which really rule the streets.

The Timorese(east or west?), Balinese, Borneans are part of Indonesia and are not Melanesians.

And none of which are in the Melanesian Spearhead group.

And yes the Indonesians are trying to buy support from Melanesian countries over their occupation of West Papua.

New Caledonia belongs to the French.

PNG govt(former PM Peter O'Neill) have already taken Indonesian money and aren't prepared to back their fellow Melanesians in West Papua for their independence from Indonesia .... who has no right to be there.

There should not be a dividing line through the middle of the Island of Papua New Guinea ...it should be one Melanesian island ..... and no Indonesians.

Micronesians have no money like most of the others.

The Filipinos have enough problems of their own.

now they are suffering for it so will cry again.

the life of a farmer is hard
it rains..............................OMG we are going to drown and lose our crops and will need substantial aid.

Its windy...........................OMG our topsoil is getting blown away and will need substantial aid
Its cold.............................OMG our crops will fail and we will need substantial aid

Diesel goes up...................OMG we cannot afford to plant/ harvest/ water etc our crops we will need substantial aid
the dollar goes down...........OMG we wont get enough cash for our new landrover we will need substantial aid

Some truth in that.
I don't really support government handouts to farmers.
I have a water licence and stock my land so that I don't need to buy feed , even if it never rained again.
And I destroy every weed and bit of lantana I see.
If I get a bare area, I put up electric tape and no animal gets on it until the soil is grown over.

Now I have a few neighbours who aren't as vigilant.

Better to let them fail and I will buy them out and run the op properly.

That's the Pareto principle in good effect.

To those who have, more shall be given
From those who have little, even that will be taken away.

That's a natural law and you can't fight Mother Nature

The dust, choked up creeks etc. are the result of the continent having more and more frequent droughts, people tend to forget that in the days of our earliest settlers Australia was know for its' dry hot dusty outback.

The universe goes in cycles we have had ice ages, the inland of Australia was once a sea, our coal deposits are the result of the end of the Carboniferous era, we long once had and era of massive rainforest thought to have been destroyed by the early aboriginal fires, when they arrived by the long gone northern land link.

The point is that the climate has forever, since time began, always been changing.

It has got nothing at all to do with mankind, we are probably headed for extinction, the earth has had total extinctions in the past, it will have them again.

Instead of the loony leftards seeing this as another opportunity to blame and hate the progressive whiteman, they should have been putting their efforts into working towards finding ways of living with the inevitable universal cyclical changes, that have been and are going to happen on earth again, regardless of what we do.

Here's just one easy picked example of why you don't know 'Jack'.
Yes - Borneo is a part of Indonesia, but it is not a part of ISLAMIC Indonesia. Borneans protest in their thousands all decked out in their 'CULTURAL' dress and akin to NEW ZEALAND Maori they wield their long swords and other weapons and charge through city streets in both 'protest' and 'hunt' against and for Moslems in both regards respectively.

Defence Minister doing a nice dance in celebrating Australian making PNG of more 'strategic' importance - to which the Papuans are very happy.
See - our PM can make our fellow 'Sahulian' neighbours very happy. Possibly not so those Oceanian Islanders though. Oops.
