A lawyer with a chair

Great work!

Lawyer who helped subdue Sydney stabbing suspect with chair breaks silence

Following the stabbing attack in Sydney's CBD that left a woman dead and another injured, attention has turned to the brave civilians who subdued the knife-wielding suspect using a cafe chair and milk crate.

Two days after the rampage, the Sydney lawyer, initially labelled "chair man" after footage emerged of him clutching the chair as he wrangled the alleged attacker, has now broken his silence.

John Bamford, 64, appeared on Sunrise on Thursday morning on the advice of a friend after a day of "people inhabiting my building and hounding me".

He said he had "no option" but to intervene on Tuesday when he saw the knife-wielding assailant and believed he was witnessing a terrorist attack.

Some people find it very hard to run, many find it easy and age has little to do with it. The fight/flight reaction is not evenly distributed in the population.

Yes, a very brave man.

He deserves our thanks.

But why the hell did he go on Sunrise?   Roll Eyes

I'm pretty sure everyone would agree a retard kid with a plastic drink bottle already thrown and no longer armed, even if the vigilante had the right retard kid, is not the same as an allahu akbah with a knife in his hand.

Don't start thinking you and this other lawyer have anything in common but your uni degree and practice, or not.

What retard kid? It was no retard and no kid.  What plastic bottle?  It was glass.  You been reading the sewer crap?

Point is, I agree with Peccerry.  Why did that bloke make himself a national headline?

As far as I've seen in schools in the last 20 years they do not sell glass drink containers. There are very few drinks even sold in glass. As you would know I have asked about this since you posted about the damage to your car. You refused to answer openly or via PM.

You mean why did he do what he did? That's what made him a national headline. Or perhaps you mean why did he do it on Sunrise? No idea, his choice, I doubt he was thinking about Sunrise when doing what he did. That you two are trying to diminish his actions/motive by his choice of media says more about you.

Me? I haven't questioned what he did, I applaud him, there are far too many people whose flight response is greater than their fight. I haven't questioned his choice of media. It's just probably weight of odds that one media outlet would get access over others. I doubt he thought it a political statement.

Not that I particularly care what you think, as you'd know, but I'm curious. Why am I beneath contempt for my comments?

Yes, your incessant carping both in open and via PM, I ignored, for one simple and obvious reason which is likely beyond you.

There you go yet again.....thinking there is a hand grenade lobbed.  It is obvious...why did the Lawyer allow himself to be commercialised on national TV?  How come you could not work that out?

As if it makes much difference to what media he spoke to. If you read my responses it was to the fact the particular media he spoke to was the problem, or questionable in your eyes. I'm still curious as to why pointing that out makes me below contempt.
