I dont know anymore...we call everyone a terrorist now I just think thats wrong..
It's not wrong.
Nothing's changed. A terrorist is still a terrorist.
You've just been conditioned by the media (and bigoted conservatives) to think that 'terrorism' means 'Islamic terrorism'.
When I was a kid, the first thing we thought of when we heard the word 'terrorism' was the IRA. The Irish.
Islamic terrorism wasn't even on our radar.
And then, in Sydney, when the terrorists had a go at the Hilton, there was no mention of Islam. Not a word.
Terrorists come from all sorts of backgrounds.
In the western world, very few of them are religious.
It's mainly right-wing extremists promoting white supremacy and white nationalism.
Sure, there are Islamic terrorists out there, and they're every bit as evil as the white supremacists, but they're in the minority.
Personally, I don't care about the label - they're just murderers and should be treated accordingly.
And if they have mental health issues, they need to be addressed.
Calling people names isn't going to prevent further attacks.
Addressing hate speech and bigotry - I'm looking at you Trump, Morrison, Dutton, Hanson,
et al. - would be a good start in minimizing the death toll.
