The planet of Prehistoric Earth had an atmosphere x3 as thick with oxygen that could both support the huge growths of the Dinosaurs and their weight.

And 5 times the CO2 and no runaway global warming.

Wouldn't that create catastrophes in their own right?

Which ones would they be? A climate stasis?

If we upset the equilibrium sh1t will happen, we are doomed.

Is that the equilibrium from when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the equilibrium of the Roman Warm Period, the equilibrium of the Medieval Warm Period, the equilibrium of the LIA, or the current equilibrium?

The equilibrium since the beginning of the industrial age.

Oh, I see. Australia is going to be the place to set a world record for daytime temperature.

Given all those other "equilibria", what makes you think the climate was in a state of equilibrium before the industrial age? The end of the LIA was just before the industrial age.

And that's without the true Ice Ages. Wink

Can you define the sh1t that will happen?

1 person writes 70C on twitter, and now its the whole GW community thinking we'll get 70 degree summers?

Even if you don't believe the industrial era has upset the finely balanced equilibria the mass extinction of all species from insects to everything and the killing of our oceans will cause runaway effects from all angles.

The sh!t that will happen is the human race will either choke to death or we will cook.

Lovely graph. From where does it come?

Ice core data? The ice core data doesn't have the required resolution. Now plant stmata does and contradicts the ice core data. Wink

Oh dear. Another believer in the 6th Mass Extinction Event. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Have a look at the ie ages. And tell us all how you came to the conclusion that the earth is or ever was in "equilibrium". That is earth has a steady state climate. Grin Grin Grin Grin

Seeing as the humans have not really progressed evolutionary wise, it seems more likely they will simply die out.

But please show us any evidence of your statement.

Never studied chemical equilibria then?

According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the highest registered air temperature on Earth was 56.7 °C (134.1 °F) in Furnace Creek Ranch, California, located in the Death Valley desert in the United States, on July 10, 1913.

A vastly different proposition. This is climate. Replete with Ice Ages and Warm periods. And everything in between.

But if you can show a nexus between chemical equilibria and climate equilibria - go for it.

If you view the climate as a buffer system, it works. The system adjusts to small changes. Thereby accounting for warming and cooling phases, an input changes the climate changes.

And because of   the co2, vegetation was more prolific, this is what allowed the Dino's to grow. not the oxy ..

Chemical equilibria can only be achieved with diversity of species, wiping out species by the thousands every year can only be detrimental.

The Earth can cope and keep equilibrium over long time periods, my V8 is helping to kill this planet.
