Type 2. My insulin sensitivity is still enough that I don't really need too much in terms of medication. I might be overmedicating taking the amount of medication my doctor prescribed.

It is reversible mate, having a break from alcohol is a really positive start, now you need to put little thought into your diet, I have had more addictions than that are known to medical science lol

So I do understand how difficult it is to take those steps,But the prognosis is rather grim if you dont

It is a matter of having such a low sugar diet that you cut out all junk food and sugary drinks to a point that fast food only is a once a month thing. I have gone to the movies bring my own junk food to theatres. As of recent months, I have brought my own sandwiches and drinks from home. They are low sugar, low fat snacks that have not only saved me money, but have helped my diet.

People have said that the reversible possibility is through eating certain foods that will make your cells more insulin sensitive. And I have to make drinking green tea early in the day my preferred drink.

I have Green tea at night - it makes me sleep like a baby  Smiley

I nice deep sleep 😴 Lots of dreaming and waking up refreshed with a stiffy..  Grin

The more Green tea you drink the more goodness from it soaks into your gut/bowel system to make you healthy...

Also you should also have 1/2 teaspoon of bicarb soda as soon as you get out of bed in the mornings in half (of less) a glass of water... then wait 30 mins before you eat... with will help your lower intestine to stay alkaline and your poop stable... not too hard, not too soft...

Eat at least 6 different vegetable a day... two fruit... an apple a day keeps the doctor away...

Get rid of sugar... don’t worry about salt or skin on chicken... you need it...

Drink two bottles of water during the day...

The Green Tea that i have is Nerada from woolies...

Grin Grin Tea Total ey?

I worked at Nerada Tea Plantation as a school kid on the weekend. $4 a day.

I got as sick as a dog some years ago whereby everything i ate went straight through out the other end... the smell was horrendous  Shocked ..

I lived on Black Tea ☕️ and Vegemite on dry toast for a week...

(If only i knew about probiotics back then i’d Have only been crook for a day)

Since then i only drink black tea at home .. however i do have a cappuccino when out..

Recently i’ve Found out how much better Green tea is for the Gut system.. the more you drink, the more “good stuff” gets taken in..

I also find that if i have a cup of tea around 8 to 8.30pm I’m nearly falling off the peach by 10... and i have the best nights sleep ever..

Good Health starts with the gut..

Coopers Pale ale is a naturally brewed beer 🍻 with no added preservatives or flavours ... so i have a couple of those on the weekends.. mainly ... 🍺

$4 a day?

You were rich!

I disagree about drinking green tea before bed. I just have a glass of water and brush my teeth before going to bed. I sleep much better. Mum has pretty much guilt-tripped me into brushing my teeth before going to bed, so much in my youth, that it is difficult to sleep without having done so.

About a month ago, I read up on kiwi fruit lowering blood sugar. I also saw that it helped prevent and undo macular degeneration.

Paprika, turmeric, and ginger are boiled into my boiled vegetables. I also put thyme over the vegetables when I serve them for dinner.

My coffee gets cinnamon sprinkled over before I put in the milk. And the protein shakes I have usually have nutmeg sprinkled over them before mixing.

I seemed to have lost a bit of weight and gained some muscle definition -- the likes of which I have not seen since 2008. Not having alcohol for the past 7 months has also definitely helped.

Good oral hygiene is the reason that folks teeth are so much better today than years gone by...

Nothing to do with drinking bloody Fluoride  Roll Eyes

I was reading this last week that there is now evidence that bad oral hygiene could cause Bowl Cancer ...

also.. Bad gut is being linked to dementia etc...

It all starts at the gut...

Some books..

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Absolutely.

Its effectiveness has been corroborated by several scientifically-backed studies over five decades or so.

You're a bigger sheep than I ever imagined.

Fluoride is one of the biggest cons ever perpetuated on the planet.

The science is bought flawed science by the industries that make the toxic waste ... that they cannot dump into the environment directly ....

so they dump it in our water supplies & thus through we humans & into our sewer systems into our rivers & on to the sea.

Educate yourself.

Good oral hygiene means being careful with what you eat and drink. And brushing your teeth 3 times a day. I bought 3 bottles of mouth wash/anti-plaque, and I have about 4 tubes of toothpaste in my possession. All because I have decided to brush my teeth as often as I can. Otherwise, you need to drink lemon water in the morning before you do much else.

https://www.alkaway.com.au/learning-centre/water-filtration/fluoride-the-latest-...

Quote:
Eleven Facts You May Like to Consider:

1. Fluoride is added to our water at the ‘optimal’ dose of 1 ppm (equal to 1 mg/l).
This dose was set in the 1940s and was based on the assumption that the total intake of fluoride would be 1 mg/day, (about 4 glasses of water). However, today fluoride is also present in virtually everything we consume. A fact that is not taken into consideration when determining fluoride levels in drinking water.

2. Most foods are made with fluoridated water. Crops are sprayed with fluoridated water and treated with pesticides that contain fluoride. Eat a bowl of cereal with milk for breakfast and a can of coke with lunch and you have already consumed 230% of the recommended ‘optimal’ dose.

3. Cooking in fluoridated water also increases dietary fluoride levels, unlike chlorine, fluoride does not dissipate in the steam, rather it remains in the water and concentrates in the cooked food.

4. Because of the increase in fluoride exposure from all sources combined, the rate of dental fluorosis has increased significantly over the past 50 years. Dental fluorosis (discolouration and pitting of the teeth) is often touted as simply an aesthetic problem, however, it is actually the first visible sign of fluoride poisoning.

5. The ‘optimal’ level of 1 ppm is calculated for an average adult, so the dose received by an infant 1/10th of the weight of an adult would be 10 times the ‘optimal’ level.

6. 99% of tap water is not consumed as it ends up down the drain, on the garden, is used to wash clothes, dishes, in the shower or bath, and so on.
There is absolutely no need for fluoride to be added to drinking water.

7. Naturally occurring organic calcium-fluoro-phosphate is an edible salt, insoluble in water and easily assimilated by the body, where it builds and strengthens bones and teeth. It is entirely different from sodium fluoride, which is soluble in water and cannot be assimilated by the body.

8. The first use of fluoridated drinking water was in Germany’s Nazi prison camps, allegedly to sterilize humans and force the prisoners into calm submission. Sodium fluoride is a common rat poison and was used in nerve gas.

9. Fluoride can diminish bone strength and increase the risk of fractures. According to the NRC, fracture risk may be increased at levels as low as 1.5 ppm.

10. Fluoride can interfere with the function of the thyroid gland, resulting in iodine deficiency. Iodine deficiency is the most common cause of brain damage and mental disability in the world.

11. Most people are aware of the fact that chlorine reacts to form numerous compounds, such as chloramines, after it is added to our drinking water. However many people are not aware that fluorine is much more reactive than chlorine and is capable of forming any number of deadly compounds.

Cheers...

Sure use lemon juice to clean your teeth.  Roll Eyes

It's just as bad as Coca Cola .... you've never heard of acids?

https://www.livestrong.com/article/147503-the-effect-of-citric-acid-on-tooth-ena...

Quote:
Erosion of Tooth Enamel
Lengthy and repeated exposure to citric acid and other acids in food and drinks causes tooth enamel to dissolve. This demineralization of the hard tooth surface is called erosion and can lead to tooth decay. When erosion has progressed into the softer, inner layer of your tooth, called the dentin, you will start to experience sensitivity and pain. Untreated erosion can eventually involve the nerve portion of your tooth resulting in the need for root canal treatment.

Risky Acidic Foods
Citrus fruits have a high concentration of citric acid as well as other fruits, fruit juices, and fruit products. Other acidic foods include pickled vegetables and foods that are fermented, such as wine and yogurt. Candies, sports drinks, canned ice teas, herbal teas and sodas commonly have added citric acid, as well as other acids that are harmful to tooth enamel. Carbonated sodas -- both regular and diet varieties -- have higher levels of acids and can be more harmful to your teeth than non-carbonated drinks. Because various acids are frequently added to food products to improve the taste, reading the food label may be the best way to determine the acid content.

Fluoride has nothing to do with dental hygiene and it's use as a dental caries preventative is spurious.
