This is key info:
The global hawk Iran shot down was operating in stealth mode, with all identifiers turned off. Not only is that against the rules, it proves Iran's earlier claims that they had defeated American stealth tech are true. They are not sitting ducks, like every other victim of the war machine has been.

It had turned off all its identifying equipment in violation of aviation rules and was moving in full secrecy.

The U.S. is claiming the global hawk was shot down in international airspace
They sent the Navy to get it, supposedly it fell in the water. Iranian speed boats are faster. The Navy probably has the advantage of GPS to find it, perhaps it is communicating. However, if it fell on Iranian soil, actually on land, then what? And falling on land is probably the only way the GPS would still work on it, to tell the Navy where it is. My guess is that if it landed in the water it would sink and not be easily found. But that is only a guess. So there is a showdown coming, RIGHT NOW.

Update to below:
If Iran shot down a global hawk, it means they can shoot down an F-35 or any other American stealth aircraft. The global hawk is designed to be a max stealth aircraft and the one shot down was the most current model, entering service in 2015. The United States had only 11 of this $250, 000, 000 model, now 10. It cost a LOT more than an F-35.

Unrelated to the American drone shoot down in Yemen:
Iran shot down a Global Hawk that was flying over Iranian territory. Trump said "Iran made a very big mistake". But I don't think the international community is going to see it that way, after all, Iran had every right to shoot it down. We will have to see where this goes.

(CNN)The Indian Navy is sending two warships to the Gulf of Oman to protect the country's shipping in the wake of a series of attacks on tankers there in the past six weeks.
The guided-missile destroyer INS Chennai and the patrol vessel INS Sunayna "have been deployed in the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf to undertake maritime security operations," an Indian Navy statement said.
Surveillance aircraft are also being dispatched in what India is calling Operation Sankalp.

India announced the operation Friday, one day after Iran said it shot down a US spy drone over the Gulf of Oman.

Iran refrained from hitting manned US plane accompanying downed drone, IRGC says

A senior Iranian military commander says Iran has refrained from shooting down a US plane with 35 people on board that was accompanying an American spy drone which was shot down in the Persian Gulf after intruding into the Iranian airspace.


"Along with the US drone, there was also an American P-8 plane with 35 people on board," Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the Aerospace Division of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), told reporters on Friday.

"This plane also entered our airspace and we could have targeted it, but we did not because our purpose behind shooting down the American drone was to give a warning to terrorist American forces," Hajizadeh added.

The IRGC announced on Thursday that its air defense force had shot down an intruding American spy drone in the country’s southern coastal province of Hormozgan.

The IRGC said in a statement that the US-made Global Hawk surveillance drone was brought down by its Air Force near the Kouh-e Mobarak region, which sits in the central district of Jask County, after the aircraft violated Iranian airspace.

The IRGC Aerospace Force on Friday released the first photos of the wreckage of the downed US spy drone.

It displayed parts of the doomed drone, refuting earlier claims by the US that the drone was flying over international waters, and had not violated the Iranian airspace
