Why would pensioners, largely Liberal voters, be cheering?

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

how can anyone who IS SO RIGHT  Roll Eyes get it so WRONG>.

He lost only because John Howard convinced him to run on a GST. As leader Howard was much smarter he promised to never ever have a GST as Liberal policy.  Difference was that Hewson lost and Howard lied.

Looks like it has been recommended by business....The Government needs to rule this out completely???

Australians will have to sell their homes and live off the proceeds until they are eligible to receive the pension once they have reduced their assets below the threshold to qualify....Sounds fair enough to give millionaires a pay rise by including the family home in the assets test....What is the concern Mac???

Huh Huh Huh

My point is they are looking for money to give their 3rd stage tax cuts to the big end of town.

3rd stage doesn't come into effect for another 2 elections
They are salting the earth like they did before.
Wasn't it Hawke(?) that said he would honour treasure Howards tax cuts but then reneged?
Of course then the liar word was used a mud to sling.

Howard hid a seven billion dollar deficit from everyone including the Opposition. Such a deficit would be roughly equivalent to $40 billion today after accounting for inflation and population growth. There was no charter of Budget honesty at the time. It was just a part of the massive economic mess the Liberals left for the Hawke government to clean up.
