Upscaling permaculture techniques, green manure, crop rotation and less tilling all seem to be good practices for better soil, instead of relying on made up fertilizers

Which "made up" fertilisers would they be? The ones that have been around for thousands of years but are now manufactured rather than waiting on nature?

yup those one

So not "made up". Thanks. Wink

But would you rather waste what is a useful by-product of manufacture?

I see your itching for a fight Lee... Grin
I don't think just buying in fertilizers is the best way to manage farmland, it looks like many farmers agree with me and there are more and more success stories where they have made their farmlands more fertile by better land management. Wink

Seems the videos and text in the OP went right over your head

then you posted a new and very similar thread about bio products

That of course depends on the fertility of the land to start with. Wink

It is possible to build up with organic fertilisers. But they are still fertilisers.

couldn't agree with you more...
I'm thinking more of the Farmers that only use fertilizers after every crop, usually with lots of bug and fungus sprays as well. The farmland after a few years with these practices are usually pretty depleted...

It seems to be a attitude of taming the land instead of working with the land that is causing the most troubles.... Wink

All the farmers I have known use crop rotation.

Most use low till.

Stubble is burnt and turned back in as part fertilisation.

These are mostly generational farmers so it is not in their best interest to rape the land.

yeah sounds like where you are there isn't much rain anywhere either, so look after your property or go broke....
Unfortunately that's not the case with most of the bigger farms in QLD, id say cotton and sugar cane, even wheat, no crop change...
The small farms around where I live is mainly peanuts, but see sorghum and maize being planted as well on the same paddocks which is refreshing. Wink

It was Super Fertile until the whites came along after 1788.  Roll Eyes
What whites called a desert, the Boongaloongs had a farm, garden and plenty of water.
As Burke & Wills saw... and stole.
