Yes. I try to enjoy the seasons as much for what they are. I prefer cold over hot, as I am mostly very physically active for my type of work. I've walked around on cold days without a shirt (my long hair like a scarf though) just to enjoy it more so a bit. Everest base camp was way colder (our team got halfway up, but had to cancel due to safety concerns like atrocious weather coming for a very long time. We were not 'fool' climbers).

I do like Autumn-like months the most. Clear skies, high clouds, great diving viz, cool breezes and a my lawns covered in leaves which I allow my neighbours to clean up after they have cleared theirs and have mine blow onto theirs. Leaf-Fall, is like Snow-Fall on the lawn - really nice to see.

I guess I'm unhealthy then. Although I don't use aircon or heating, I take the seasons as they come... and go. You only get so many of them, may as well experience them.

Yes I think so as well- but this winter has been very cold here and has knocked the stuffing out of me

Here's the irony.
Any form of alcohol, even wines - makes you hotter in summer, regardless if it is 'chilled' before you drink it.
Any form of smoking makes you colder in winter. You see the smokers huddled in their little tight groups around the little warm flames on their cigarettes.

Australians in the hot outback drinking 'chilled' beers...  Roll Eyes

I'm guessing my summer will be on the warmish side of hell then. Grin

Alcohol dehydrates you. I don't drink sugary drinks in the summer.

Can I ask the physiological basis behind this?

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

5 tealights lit up in the toilet room. Just something to keep the chill and mosquitos away. Dengue fever alert lifted for Rockhampton, too.

Possibly the coldest day of the year tomorrow. I had a swim today  but doesn't count because the water is still warm.

This is my first winter since retiring.

I must say, it's less than comfortable.
I'm used to being in my nice warm office, with my nice warm cup of hot chocolate or herbal infusion.
But I had to warm up my home this morning, and it took a while.
And, horror of horrors, my garage isn't heated.
But it will be very soon, a nice split system so I can comfortably work in my garage.

Has everyone suffered like this for the last 30 years?
How??????

Melbourne has high winds - it's raining - it's cold.
It's colder than a dead dingo's donger in the snow.
