Helicopter pig culling
May 27th, 2019 at 9:20pm

Since the chopper being used is a Robinson R22 this is not government funded aerial culling. Government run aerial culling programs must use turbine powered choppers they can't use piston engine choppers.

Professional shooters are allowed to have semi auto rifles.

That seems so cruel -
I bet many animals lie there wounded, taking days to die.

Why don't they get some balls and go hunt the Pigs n' Boars like real men - with but Sword, Spear and Shield.
Use actual 'hunting/tracking' techniques.

Next they'll be culling animals from the comforts of their home with their playstation/xbox 'drone' attack force Z.  Roll Eyes

Little black piggies running around squealing!

The government likes to impose massive over regulation to increase costs with anything it gets involved with.

The R22 is perfect for aerial culling the pilot can see the shooter and line up the chopper to help shooter, the cheapest Robinson turbine chopper costs more than double per hour to run compared to a R22 with the government choppers costing about 4x more.

Government run aerial culling requires all animals to be double tapped which means shot twice. The video in the OP shows only a couple needed a follow up shot the vast majority are killed almost instantly from one shot. Double the cost for ammo with government run culling.

Government run culling requires a spotter to sit beside pilot and record shots fired and kills. This person is not really needed a Go Pro recording can give all this info and help landowner locate the bodies so they don't stink the place out.

Since when did the government do anything cheaper than a private business?

Info on how government runs aerial culling.

Looks like a typo in the thread title.

Ought have been a "K" and an "i".

Killing*.  Wink

* Yeah, yeah, I know ... "culling" is the "official" term used.

I misread the thread title.

I thought it was about killing helicopter-pigs.

Yes they are. But so are pigs. They create wallows and  destroy native plantlife . They are a problem in our wetland areas including Kakadu. Make up your mind. Pristine wetlands or feral pigs?

I'm not disputing anything about the pigs.

I'm wondering if you want to shoot every last human.

Some people I probably could. Humans will work themselves out when the next big pandemic hits. First will be the 3rd world and then it will move up the ladder.
