The Australian Tax Office will suggest to Prime Minister Scott Morrison that GST needs to be applied to a broader range of foods.

So not government policy. Not government anything.

The ATO - ANOTHER government independent organisation. Grin Grin Grin Grin

So they took nothing to the election and there is no mandate for GST changes. Maybe put it up for discussion at the next election.

The Attorney General need not even be a lawyer.

Got a link for that?

Yes but there is a surplus of Lawyers in politics so the point is moot.

Probably the only surplus the Libs will get.

According to the list only WA stipulates that it must be a lawyer.

But prove me wrong if you can. Wink

So your view is unless there is a specific mandate that nothing can occur? It didn't stop Whitlam, Hawke, Keating etc.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Easier to rob the suffering poor than tax the fattening rich and offshore corporations who are robbing the nation....

How conspicuous that the biggest income tax cut helps those in the politician income range .. what a bunch of thieving bastards we have as our 'elected representatives'...

Yet it is likely that people on the top marginal rate have an actual effective tax rate lower than the next marginal rate below them and some in the 37C bracket likely have an effective rate lower than those on the 32.5 cent rate.

What is wrong with people paying their fair share of tax.
