May resigns
May 25th, 2019 at 1:12pm

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/world/britains-prime-minister-theresa-res...

The front runner to replace former British Prime Minister Theresa May has warned he was prepared for a no-deal Brexit that could cripple the European economy.

Boris Johnson, a former London Mayor, who is favourite with the bookmakers to win the Tory party ballot drew a line in the sand yesterday.

As European leaders continue to put forward deals that punish the UK for leaving the bloc, Mr Johnson said he would walk away on October 31 without a deal unless they compromised.

Mr Johnson was at a conference in Interlaken, Switzerland, and said he would seek to renegotiate the Brexit deal if he became prime minister.

But he stressed that “you need to be prepared to walk away” without a deal if necessary, in order to ensure the UK does actually leave the EU.

A no-deal Brexit would save Britain billions of pounds in fees to the European Union but without trade agreements the European economy would be badly hurt.

Mrs May resigned yesterday, saying she regretted she was unable to pass Brexit, despite three years of negotiations.

World leaders have offered sympathy and solidarity for Mrs May, but it was unclear whether her departure will make any improvement in the Brexit shambles.

United States President Donald Trump, who makes a state visit to the UK in early June, praised Mrs May.

“I feel badly for Theresa. I like her very much. She is a good woman. She worked very hard,” he said.

“She is very strong.”

But he said she did the right thing by walking away.

“It’s for the good of her country. I like her very much,” he added.

“In fact, I’ll be seeing her in two weeks.”

Mrs May will step down on June 7, shortly after Mr Trump ends his visit.

Mr Johnson, former Brexit secretary Dominic Raab, Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt, and Sir Graham Brady were among the names being floated as runners in the ballot for the new Prime Minister.

I trust one of these MEN  will have the answer  Angry Angry

I do hope there isnt any outside influence happening here...

The Europeans have been fighting each other for 2000 years.
Nothing has changed -
they can never agree on anything.

If they elect Boris as head of the Conservative party/PM, they'll be putting a CLOWN in Office after getting rid of a WITCH.......they're both guilty of egotism...

The best candidate is Dominic Raab. He's a true Brexiteer.............

The Brexit demon will swallow the next pommie human sacrifice live again.

Theresa May was the second casualty of Brexit.

Brexit is a folly that will harm the UK economically.

Absolute nonsense. GB has been carrying the EU financially and militarily for decades. Leaving will bring the country back to financial and industrial dominance in Europe. Also, leaving will cause financial problems for France and Germany not Britain which have been dictating to the EU for a long time.

The EU will be rooted without Britain, they can keep importing refugees to sustain their lifestyle.

The Poms have had enough of them and got a chance to vote on the issue, they wanted out.

I find this eventuality to be really shocking. Shocking the old hag wasn't punted a year ago.

Europe has been stable since the end of the Cold War, dear, and the EU is one of the deciding factors.

What crap - what about the war in the Balkans?,
the invasion of Crimea by the Russians?
What about the invasion of all the Africans & Muslims into Europe
which is one of the reasons that caused Brexit?
What about all the terrorism in Europe now?

Good heavens, you're right, I hadn't thought of that. Europeans, were they?

Britain was so much safer during the war, no?

The invasion of all the darkies into Europe has nothing to do with the EU, dear. Mother is not a signatory to the Schengen Agreement. Refugees in Europe aren't allowed into Britain without a visa.

The main source of terrorism in Europe is ethno-nationalism - nothing to do with the EU either. The EU, however, does assist to coordinate policing through Europol.

Mother, Uncle and the UN responded to the war in the Balkans if you remember. It was the great peace effort that inspired the invasion of Iraq.

The Russians want the Cold War back. It wants to compete with the EU, the largest single market in the world. I think that's a worry.

You?
