They cut my mum off her pension again. She is 91 and on oxygen. She also doesn't understand because vascular dementia. This is the 5th time in 2 years. She doesn't own anything. Why is centerlink allowed to treat ppl this way? I say allowed but as far as I can see it's actual policy.

Get to your local Centrelink and ask WTF.

Get onto Current Affairs, they've done a few shows about the same thing

or how about some of the radio guys

or, if you know a dozen or more people prepared to participate, form a protest group with lots of large, legible placards and phone the media to say there's a riot happening, then position yourselves somewhere busy and get on tonight's news

and remember, this is ongoing throughout the Commonwealth.  81 year old woman was cut off by the UK pension.  Was left with only five pounds to her name.  A neat, healthy older woman, grandmother, great grandmother

she was so depressed and shamed by what was done to her, she walked off with her handbag

and threw herself over a quarry in Wales

What about seniors organisations.  They're all going through this sort of runaround and you'd find ready support there

OR ---- get in touch with ducking Shorten, Plibersek or your local Labor as well as Get Up --- see if they're prepared to put it where their mouths have been

get angry

go berserk

the public will back you.  The public has a heart

Tony Abbott has been complaining about the long wait times on the centre link phones now that he is unemployed 

Take her down to centafink
Plod her down in the line and tell the shite for brains that she is there to get her pension reinstated

Then walk out and leave them to it.

They woukd have no idea how to deal with it, and it woukd be even better if she was incontinent with it.

Don't leave the area, just refuse to deal with the, say simply that you have only brought her to deal with it.
I'll bet they are more careful next time.

Oh, and a word of advice
Don't get angry, that's what they want.
They will enjoy holding you up, sending you all over the place and generally being pricks of the highest order.

If you get the runaround, ask to see their manager, very politely.
If that fails go to your local member.
And current affair
And the ombudsmen
And the local radio stations

Be very polite, be quiet, state your case without getting upset or angry.

Get even with the base turds and never back off.

Yep. Don't get angry with Centrelink. The Junkies and Alcoholics do enough of that to them.
What they want is a customer that can forgive them their mistakes, make them smile and feel that their job is worthy of making a difference.
They are not perfect, in fact - they have a job that itself, isn't supported much by 'both' Parties that wish it didn't exist.

My sister and I got her back on. Only took 2 days that time. We couldn't get a reason out of them. It will happen again in a few months. Maybe they have a policy of doing that to pop over a certain age in case they died or something.

We have done that before. Took her in a wheelchair on her oxygen. They sorted it pretty quick that time but we can't take her now because the govt has rationed her oxygen and we use a whole bottle going to centerlink (we have a generator at home). They seem to want to make it hard as they can for anyone nowadays but mum is of the generation that didn't have super.
