Enough with the left and right stuff Cods. It's so tiresome.

The problem is that your opinion is informed by extremely coercive journalism with a near monopoly. As is the majority of Australians.

It is directly interfering with our democratic process and we should simply not accept that.

I don't consume any Murdoch news products (except for picking up the smellograph at the barber) but they're free to support any political ideology they like.

Its not like people don't know they're not a generally biased organisation.

Just love rupert.
A superior man.
At the action, not the reaction( like mothra and smith)
A man on a mission and with purpose ( not like mothra and smithy just durpping around)
A man of influence.
A man who is assertive, confident and is not a spineless panderer

I suppose mothra and smith try to feel morally superior to rupert.
Moral superiority is the consolation prize for being a failure in life.

But I ask this,
If mothra or smith had total control of a global media company , would THEY be impartial,
Would THEY not try to put forward their ideology.

Deny that if you dare  Cheesy Cheesy Grin Grin

No one really thinks newscorp is anything other than the propaganda arm of the liberal party, do they?

I don't know why is is allowed to get away with lie after lie ... he should have been shut down ages ago

Phillip Adams has been writing for it for decades.  Peter van Onselen for years.

The Australian is in fact the best newspaper in Australia, far more balanced and centrist than the ABC or Fairfax - neither of which has a single right of centre regular contributor.

There is no 'Murdoch' interference -none of the editors of any of the News Corp papers would stand for it.  It's a conspiracy myth lefties always propagate about anyone and anything that doesn't side with their Bolshevik agit prop.

The title of this laughable piece is instructive.

Mounting evidence the tide is turning on News Corp, and its owner

There is no tide and there is no turning. And certainly no evidence.
Shorten said no to meeting Murdoch during the election campaign IF he was in America (which, of course he will not be during the campaign). And .... er... that's it.

And this from a senior researcher at a university journalism school. Ho ridiculous can you get???

You are very wrong.

Also do you know that of the ABC employees who have gone into politics more have represented the Liberals than Labor ?

Only at the point where it would have damaged their credibility to not support them. The Liberals they opposed were on the nose.

It is worth noting that in both cases they well and truly made up for it with the same type of ongoing relentless criticism right through their terms in office.

News were relentless against Rudd and Gillard, they managed to create most of the perceived disharmony with their fake news eventually driving misguided leadership changes to try and stop it.

Do you see that that makes 2 between 1950 and 2019  and in both cases they went into overdrive to get rid of them.

The point is that they should have no input in politics at all. Media should report events not be a part of them and should not  be interfering with elections by dishonestly influencing or driving voter opinion.

The things which have been done by News Ltd in Australian elections should not be legal.

Geez Cods. A simple yes or no would have sufficed.

Look, it's not about the left or the right. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. That's why i keep asking you if you've read the article. You're launching into a fight i do not mean to have and has nothing to do with the thread.

It's about the major source of media in Australia, upon which many people rely to be informed, is behaving extremely dishonestly, corruptly and unscrupulously.

The journalists who work for these papers are saying it.

It's not about Shorten. It's not about the left and the right.

It's about what we should or should not allow to proceed unchecked as consumers and, dare i say it, targets.
