An English artist has apologised after Australian Aboriginal elders accused her of "stealing" from their culture in her artwork featured in Ricky Gervais's wildly popular new Netflix series.

I guess this is ok because it's blacks stealing from blacks?

Yeah, that's a pretty blatant rip-off of Aboriginal art style.  Angry

So? That's how culture spreads and evolves. Why should  modern aborigonal art be immune?

I am pretty sure that picture in the background is upside down, but that is how Mr Squggle used to do it.

Excuse me, are you suggesting Mr Squiggle was a dirty Boong?

Impossible. He lived in a rocket ship, had a pencil for a nose and loved squiggles.

Okay, 2 out of 3's not bad. We all like squiggles, no?

No. But only aborigines can sell their art as aboriginal art. If the artist has sold it as his work, and not aboriginal art, he would not have a problem.

Can you copy the Mona Lisa and sell it as a 'Da Vinci'? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Well apparently the USA Hollywood Media can take other nations and people's history and make its own version - even with a Token Black Man in it, which is entirely incorrect to the historical records. But when it comes to the Media, the 'History' is a lie, especially of 'white history'.

I saw a documentary on Mr Squiggle and he was not a Boong or a Muslim, nor did he have an agenda like Waleed, imagine the influence he could have on the youngsters these days if he did.

Listen numbnuts.
Every Tradmark and Copyright Attorney will tell you and teach you in 'official' Educational Seminars as well, that its not about right or wrong or about 'legal' - its about the DEEPEST POCKET!
Hell, go listen to what Dyson (Vaccuums) had to do because his pocket wasn't deep enough at the time. Go listen to the CD's of all the other great innovators and see what they had to deal with.

In the great 'global' scheme of things - Aboriginals have to make up their minds as to what is most important to them?
Their ART or their ...land (or something else entirely, maybe even the white man's 'money'???? Huh
