I find it interesting that longy is still trying the old do you own a EV tactic when he looses a argument.
Longy spends so much time in the USA board yet I’m sure he doesn’t live in USA, why are you always on the USA board if your not going to live there, all you Aussie armchair politicians that know all about a country you have probably never even visited..... Cheesy
Or is that diferant ? Wink

He's been using that lame technique for years Cheesy LOL

Ironic, dont you think? You've been parotting EVs for 20 years and never even owned one.

hypocrite

The important thing is that I was right and you were wrong about EV's Wink

hardly, with 1% market for EVs and almost no one owning JUST an EV, youare still as wrong as you always were, hypocrite.

You will never own an EV

Again there are plenty of EV owners with just one car and Many households now with 2 EV's and no Fossil fool cars..... making a wrong assumption again with no proof and no personal experience to back it up..... EV sales doubled again last year and they sold 2,000,000 new Electric Cars, the biggest bottleneck for the EV's are the battery ,not demand. When they build new battery factories their percentage will rise.
Just think if Australia went completely to Electric and at a worse scenario use coal generators at least all the energy needs would be from Australian resources and not boat load after boatload from the middle east, how can that be bad ? Wink

Care to actually support that with facts rather than pulling it from your bum?  US studies showed that ~95% of EV owners also had ICE vehicles.

And once again.... you are a hypocrite since you down own an EV yourself.

https://cleantechnica.com/2017/06/15/many-cars-electric-car-drivers/
We surveyed over 2,000 electric car drivers living in 28 countries (49 of 50 US states, 26 European countries, and 9 Canadian provinces). We wanted to find out what early electric car adopters require and desire from their next electric cars and from EV charging networks, as well as what EV life is like so far for them.
Across the three groups, 23–29% of Europeans had only one car in the household, versus 11–17% for North Americans. On the flip side, 15–25% of Europeans had three or more cars in the household, whereas 39–48% of North Americans had three or more cars.

Ok Longy here is a 2 year old survey and reading about Tesla owners many have more than 1 and no ICE cars, when u have 600km of range and lots of charging stations across the country like USA you don't need a ICE vehicle…
so now Longy put YOUR money where your mouth is and show us the 95% of all EV owners have a second car that is a fossil fuel one.  Wink

Longy - don't ask dumb questions.

I've told you many times -
when EVs get below $20K with a 10 year warranty
on the batteries then people will buy them by the millions.
That will happen soon enough especially with mass production in China.

Now - stop being a Luddite.

Until the Tesla model 3 is released here they are still way too expensive here and there is not much choice currently. Otherwise an electric car like the Tesla suits my needs no problems.

Strawman fallacy.
Helicopters could never be cheap but a car with a battery and an electric motor can definitely be cheap.

Why?  An electric helicopter would be quite cheap and using your 'logic' cheaper than an ICE car so...

ELECTRIC HELICOPTERS FOR EVERYONE!!!
