That stupid bill allows all the country shopping economic migrants as Bob Carr called them to come here even if they're healthy.

what a load of rubbish. There is something about allowing someone to accompany them whilst they get their medical treatment, but no one gets to stay here. Once treatment is over they both go back.

The only rubbish here is from the dopey dim witted leftists.

Where do these people who don't have to be related to the person getting medical treatment stay, do we put them up at taxpayers expense in the Hilton or the Sheraton hotels?

Who feeds these people do we give them food vouchers at taxpayers expense to dine in fine restaurants?

There are no measures to stop these people who doctors allow to accompany persons seeking treatment from absconding which shows another flaw in that bill allowing illegal immigrants to enter Australia thanks to dopey dim witted leftists.

Good thing Nauru put a stop to this idiocy, the leftists think they can tell the rest of the world what to do.

putting them up at the hilton, with breakfast lunch and dinner thrown is still far cheaper than what we're paying to keep them on Nauru. Each asylum seeker is costing us $1600 PER DAY to keep on Nauru or manus.

there is no amount of bullshit you won't spew out in your endeavour to demonize asylum seekers.

In this case refugees.

Just about everyone left on Manus Island and Nauru are actually refugees (just over 1,000 of them).

And now, not only does Baron want to deny them medical treatment, he also wants to deny them food.

It worries me what's happening to this country.

If the people who doctors allow to accompany someone getting treatment are to stay in immigration detention why waste the money flying them here in the first place?

If they're allowed to visit the hospital which would be why they're allowed to accompany the patient would that require more immigration staff to ferry these people back and forth and keep an eye on them, do we even have enough people employed to do that?

A seriously flawed bill from bill.

A good thing Nauru put a stop to this idiocy, the leftists must be butthurt they cannot dictate what other countries can do

Most people don't consider humanitarian efforts to look after refugees as a waste of money.

Those who do are often sociopaths or racists.

Quite often, both.

It costs a lot of money to keep a prisoner behind bars as well, but its a cost we are all prepared to pay, its the same principle for national security.
