Personally I think a well placed Thermonuclear bomb is the best weapon getting around.
Can even order 'home delivery' in a little white van.
Maybe even drone some bombs down into the underground carparks to really drop a High-rise in one go.

lighter at 140m with iron sights, only took half a brick of ammo!

I shot a tick off a camels scrotum at 240 yards, ...

Don't you think using tweezers would have been easier?   Undecided

Jas, I'm quite partial to a touch of sarin in the air-conditioning system of a major city's underground railway system.

Peckerhead loves using tweezers because he gets to get close and sniff the butt while using the tail as a pretend pony-tail on his head.

Shot the head off a bird at a distance of 1100 metres, using a .303. After some consideration, the witnesses said that I had favourable conditions with wind, and the bird hardly moving during the shot. Later, we concluded that I was just lucky with the shot.

I have a South African colleague who was in the SADF in the 70's who swore the most reliable rifle was always the AK.

My high school teacher did her honeymoon in South Africa. One afternoon, she was doing the tourist rounds in Cape Town. An armored guard van rolled up to a bank/business (forget the way the story went). Out jumped a couple of armed guards with what looked to be automatic weaponry. They were really animated in the pivoting around and serious looks on their faces before they opened the back of the van for whatever they were getting out. It was like watching a dramatic play, except they were being very serious about their jobs, no matter how silly they might have looked.

I bet they would have thought the AK was the most reliable weapon for their job, too. Bunch of animals don't care about obeying the law to live peacefully over there.

A friend of mines brother in-law worked for the SDF, they drove armored personal carriers through the black townships, When they picked up a person of interest they would trow them in the back handcuffed with the spare wheel and take the rough road back to the station,,The yarpies  like their meat well tenderized

The .22lr is a great round within its limitations. I don't know where the bunch of you are going with this but I will stay tuned to find out. It could be interesting.

I stay away from Guns.
I go all glazy eyed and would just open fire on anything and anyone, before myself most likely.

Personally, I'm a real man and prefer to use a nice hand-spear,  Roman short sword (good hacker) or the ever reliable Swedish Cutlass. Even a Khukri does the trick. Along with a Buckler (depending size of the beast) or Hoplite Shield - I tend to give the animal a fighting chance because chicks like scars (claw/teeth marks) on a bloke, more than tattoos (fairy paint).

This is how I would really like to go out Hunting.
Nice and shiny and full of masculine style.
Never hiding like a snake in the grass to shoot an animal from a far and safe distance.

When you fight a beast. You look them in the eye and make it a personal experience and absorb the power of the beast. You let them know who you are - as a Human and show them that we have 'horns, spurs, tough hide, armour and 'balls' as well'. Cowards hide behind trees with guns and other projectile weapons.

I'm no shooter but grew up on sheep/wheat farms and was often amazed at some of the shots you'd see over the years. The guys who get really good can head-shoot a moving Kangaroo at 500m or more bouncing across a paddock of fully developed wheat where the only target you get is the kangaroos head just bouncing up above the wheat tops every second or so before disappearing beneath. They literally have usually under 10 seconds to gauge the tracking of the roo, aim ahead, feel/guess where the head is going to pop up after watching a few bounces through the sight and allow for bullet travel time of 1/2 second or so and bullet drop.
The good ones are ridiculously impressive. It seems almost impossible to me

Gee - then you'ld be impressed by some bloke who could kill billions of animals by a press of a button in some dark room.  Roll Eyes
