Last night's carnage
Feb 3rd, 2019 at 7:50am

I'm glad we went out.  Seems there was lots of stuff going on, and no doubt I would have plunged in and upset someone or some many.  This by Setenta:

Quote:
Setanta wrote Yesterday at 8:46pm:
I've been banned from TV by Gregg because I informed him of his ban here by Gordon. Gregg thinks it's OK to ban a GMod from his MRB for doing what he is required to do, PM a member of the ban imposed by a mod of a MRB. You'd think someone into anal wouldn't get so butt hurt as to kill the messenger. Perhaps he thinks...

That is technically incorrect.  There is no requirement for a GMod to send a PM to a Member banned from a MRB by that MRB's Mod.

The actual banning process by a Mod of a MRB is quite cumbersome and impractical, and I wish FD would re-write it.

Since I became an MRB Mod., I have banned people and followed the technical process to the letter.  That requires FD/GMod being PM'd a fair bit, and the Member being banned PM'd, as well as public notifications and combinations of all three.

That led to a far more practical process being informally adopted, but it did not comply with those technical Rules.

The practice which developed was that the Mod would make a public announcement of the ban, on Forum.  They would then send the Member a PM notifying them of the ban and the notification.  A GMod would be cc'd into that PM.  The GMod would then (unnecessary...but they did) send the Member a warning that they better comply with the ban, as if they did not, they would get a Forum wide ban.

That's where we are, BUT...it is not strictly FD Rule compliant.

As I said, I wish he'd re-write the Rule for bans from MRBs.

I've asked for clarification of the rules, but have had no reply yet (early days).

Currently, Gordon is the only person banned from my MRB - FTVR.

That ban will be reviewed in the coming days.

That's what the Rules say....and, Gordon must also send FD/GMod a copy of that PM and a copy of the public Forum notification of the ban.

But.......a more efficient yet non-Rule compliant practice has evolved, one which has never been made public until this Thread.

Technically, if Gordon has not send those PMs, then his 'ban' is invalid as non Rule compliant....BUT.......it is an unwise Member who takes a GMOd on over the process.

The requirements of the FD Rules are far too technical, onerous and burdensome.

Good.  Last thing the forum needs is mods having it easier to ban and censor.

Why did you bring my father into a discussion on this forum?

Cods, where I prefer not to post:

I have never called for anyone to be banned.....

So, when you post that you have 'reported' someone/thing, why are you doing that, cods?

Did you 'report' Karnal in the last several days?

He seems quite okay to me.  Even if he did not, I don't take the armchair psychiatrist chair.  I leave that for idiots.

Hey, Setanta ~ posted by JaSin where I prefer not to post:

Quote:
What I'm saying is that Gordon, Setanta, myself and a few other members here seem to 'cope': we both 'fight' them and 'ignore' them - regardless, they do NOT AFFECT us.

There ya go, proving the old saying, "Water finds its own level," again.  You must be so proud to be mentioned in such lofty company, with a racist bigot and a complete idiot.

Can you help me out here, Setanta....was that JaSin 'fighting' or ignoring?
