Liberal Party Beliefs - how so?
Jan 29th, 2019 at 11:57am

What do you think of this first belief in the Liberal Party's list of beliefs?  As far as I can see, the Liberal Party gives no further explanation of what they mean by "inalienable" rights and "freedoms" - I call it BS, we have never had inalienable rights except the right to have religious thought. Freedoms are always taxed, which means we "buy" them. If we want a certain freedom, the government says you can have it as long as you pay the taxes, fees and charges

"lean government that minimises interference in our daily lives" is an absolute joke, government reach is in every aspect of our lives

"We Believe:

In the inalienable rights and freedoms of all peoples; and we work towards a lean government that minimises interference in our daily lives"

What the Liberals don't believe in is more pertinent.

No income equity
No social justice
No rights for women
No reconciliation for our first nations people
No care about the environment
No support for socialised healthcare

I could keep going and going.

It's generally expected that leftwing progressive parties will take care of those.

But what I'd like to know is what the Liberal party means by: "inalienable rights" and "freedoms", when there's no Constitutional rights for either of them

In fact, with all Liberal Party beliefs, they seem to do just the opposite, they encroach on leftwing territory and try to knock the wind out of the left's sails. They won't last very long if they keep doing that
