The Heatwave State
Jan 23rd, 2019 at 9:35pm

It's quite a yearly occurrence that South Australia seems to get the most and most intense 'Heatwaves', in my view.
Even though most habitation is near the water, more than inland. Still they suffer the heatwaves.

I wonder why?
Lack of Trees to cool the land with shade?
Huh

It's hot and dry in most of SA because the weather comes from the northwest rather than blowing in from the ocean.

I see.

I guess they're stuffed then.

Nothing you can do in summer if your aircon just blows more heat

Fortunately it's usually "dry" heat, so evaporative airconditioners work relatively well.

A good reason to set up a Water Canal intricate network system of Waterways all over the north of the state.
The 'evaporation' from such water (from when it 'does' rain) held over for a longer duration of time, might just create such a nice 'air-conditioned' result  Wink

Hardly any TREES in South Australia.
Hardly any SHADE in South Australia.
Hardly any RAIN in South Australia.
Hardly any WATER in South Australia.

...mind you, heaps of boring wheat fields and a CSIRO who still can't figure out why there isn't any of the above?
