About 5 per cent of Australian children aged up to 17 are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, but 40 per cent of the children who took their own lives over the past year were indigenous.

AFP suicides and music festival drug overdoses are terrible and a lot is spoken about them. But they are dwarfed by Aboriginal youth suicide rates  and not much is spoken about that because the dead are largely victims of neglect and sexual abuse by other Aborigines.

Victims of British Aboriginals?

I feel sorry for the officers & their families.
It's obvious that the victims had no one to turn to.
This is the fault of the AFP.
Apparently anyone who admits to having problems
is looked down upon & never promoted.
They get 6 free psyche appointments a year from memory, the assistance is there.

They said on the radio today what I said above.
They obviously are looked down on if they use those services.
those services are confidential. The media strikes again with a load of bulldust.

Police must deal with some of the most horrific situations and the most evil of human nature....It is not surprising their occupation causes so much stress and depression....Police are just doing their job and deserve our respect and gratitude???

Sad Sad Sad

Wrong. The AFP don't do anything much except ceremonial attendance.

The suicide issue must be the victims questioning their worth to society and not being able to find a better-paying job as easy as AFP.

Yep.

There are lots, and lots, of morally confused people out there [in our society].

They are the 'caliber' of people which     'a society like ours',    will produce.

It isn't rocket science.   !!!!

They are emotionally pliable, exploitable,     people who are easy to point in a 'direction' [by authority figures] and exploit.

And many are 'directionless', emotionally/morally      confused      people.

Many of us, have lost our way.

People who lack moral direction [i.e. ppl who lack 'moral reasoning'] exhibit confusion in their lives, imo.

Such people often commit suicide, imo.

'Humanists' are 'empty people', imo.

'Humanist' 'professionals' teach us, and our children, that for us to [seek to] discern between good and evil, is a social crime.

That is what 'humanists' are teaching us, and our children.

And it is crap.  <---- that is a technical term.

What are the most important things in life?  What do the
proverbs, the wise sayings of man through the ages, have to say
on this point?  Let us search them.  If we did so we would come
   up with the following list:

       - the basic necessities (food and shelter)
       - a good wife (or spouse)
       - good health
       - a good conscience
       - a good name
       - wisdom, understanding, good sense, spiritual knowledge,
           understanding of ourselves and life

Now let us ask another question.  What things are most commonly
pursued by man?  What does the common, ordinary man pursue in
   life?  We can list them:

       - temporary pleasure (gratification of appetites)
       - material possessions, wealth
       - social position, being "important"
       - friendship, friends, acceptance by a group

Q.
Don't we already see this lifestyle on display, in many Australian suburbs ???

Do you have to be an invisible man to join, or do you acquire invisibility after joining?

I suspect Gordon has enrolled denizen AiA in the AFP because he has become invisible.

Most AFP officers do guard duty. Some are sent on peacekeeping missions and do experience some nasty stuff but not on policing operations here in Australia. The horrible stuff, car accidents, violent crime, people getting killed and maimed etc is dealt with by state police. The feds deal with stuff like illegal importation, drug and people smuggling, that sort of thing.
