RE McDonalds, until Dec last year I hadn't eaten at McDonalds for more than 10 years. I've had a coffee a few times when driving in the country on a public holiday.
I'm going to make it my objective to not even enter a McDonalds store for the rest of my life.
thats good , but even better. use the failure of the mob to fuel you.
seriously grab a carrot and start munching and go into mcdonalds and get in the queue and then say to the cashier
"nup, cant see anything worth eating " and then walk out.
the stares from the mainstream will reinforce the message that the "cultural hypnosis " is everywhere and infecting everything.
its a great exercise.
you could try other things like doing sit ups at the bus stop in front of the fatties or reading Marcus Aurelius on stoicism on the train as everyone else plays candy crush.
also , most people i see in the street look beaten down by life. they look like someone ground their face into the dirt.
so game them
with a big assertive confident cocky smile , hit them with a loud, "good morning mate. isnt it GREAT to be alive" and then just walk off (i call this a "takeaway").
you suck what little energy they have into your ecosystem and you walk about more charged and they just look confused.
