German far-right politician beaten unconscious

German far-right politician Frank Magnitz of Alternative for Germany party beaten unconscious

This is an appalling attack. I hope the perpetrators are found and prosecuted.

I don't care that this is a far right politician whose views I disagree with. Violence is not the way to resolve disputes. The proper way is rational debate.

That's speculation, not fact.

Apart from him opposing unregulated open border immigration (which makes him rational) what exactly makes him right wing?

Isn't this a left wing terrorist attack? It certainly fits the description.

Well, he's a member of the AFD - a right-wing populist political party.

Gordon asked why he is regarded as right-wing.

I answered his question.

What part of that don't you understand?

I'm curious.

I'm not sure how extreme their anti-immigration views are, but the party should be rigorously opposed and condemned for this position alone:

Quote:
Environment
The party has a platform of climate change scepticism,[101][106] and therefore criticizes the energy transformation policies (Energiewende) that have promoted renewable energy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_for_Germany#Ideology_and_policies

That puts them in the "extremist" category in my book.

Why is it a good thing to condemn anti-immigration?
Why is it right wing to be sceptical about man made climate change?

Thats a great question. It shouldn't be, but it is. For some bizarre reason all the right wing loonies rally behind the climate scepticism flag. Buggered if I know why. True conservatism should be all about protecting the environment.

I've never heard of a lefty climate sceptic - have you?

Lefties/progressives are mindless. To expect them to think is stupid.

And yet unlike climate sceptics, they seemed to have actually used a brain cell or two by agreeing with what the science says.
