I'm not the few (or is it the majority) people who would want to pull Peta down.

Heartily expect her to be part of the election.  And then fail miserably.

I dunno - Slippery Bill today announced $500m for the UN and increased refugee intake...

Big ears but he ain't listening.... when Custer lost his battle at the Little Big Horn, the Indian women poked out his ear drums so that next time he would listen better.....   what a choice we have in this coming election - Tweedle Dumb or Tweedle Dumber.

Lock The Gates!

Seems like the unicorns fly on both 'sides' of The Tag Team... what an incredlinable decision by the Libs.... oh, well... just trying to get another one of the old mates into a nice lifetime earner....

MPs should be voted out if they contemptuously treat their seat as a rotten borough. This is why Mirabella lost Indi.

While I agree pre-selection of Credlin would be damaging to the liberal party, this sounds more like wishful-thinking/sour grapes from a liberal party factional rival. Perhaps this should be viewed as little more than a tactical rallying cry towards the so called 'moderate' liberals.

The reality of man-made climate change - post industrial revolution - is an axiom
It is no longer a matter of speculation or debate - apart from how to deal with it

MILDURA’S top Liberal says branch members would prefer a Mallee candidate with a stronger local connection than Peta Credlin.

It follows an Australian Financial Review report that senior state Liberal Party figures were encouraging Ms Credlin, the former prime ministerial chief of staff, to run for Mallee.

Mildura branch president Russell Lamattina said he was seeking confirmation from party figures in Melbourne about what plans, if any, were afoot.

Asked if branch members would be receptive to Ms Credlin as a candidate, Mr Lamattina said someone who had lived in Mallee for most of their working career would be preferable

“We’ll be pushing for someone who’s been in the region and understands local issues.”

http://www.sunraysiadaily.com.au/story/5841896/mildura-liberals-lukewarm-on-poss...

Firstly, she's a WOMAN
Historically, an enormous handicap for Liberal Party preselection
Secondly, she's a climate change denier - at odds with the electorate - and "dinosaur" Liberal
Thirdly, the local branch doesn't want a bar of her

I don't like her chances

Anyway, back to Indi... I read a commentary recently in which it was claimed that Bridget McKenzie would definitely contest the seat if McGowan retired - which she just did. This is despite McKenzie already ruling herself out... so not sure how such a backflip would fly - and if McKenzie always intended to run if McGowan retired, why would she rule herself out before McGowan announced her intentions?

Peta should be able to get in, if she replaced Kevin Andrew.  That electorate is truly solid blue.

You must have missed this thread: Oh, dear, that's terrible... which linked an article suggesting the Liberals are in some trouble in Victoria.

Here's a choice quote that shows how much trouble:
Quote:
The deputy leader, Josh Frydenberg, could ... be one of 11 Victorian Liberal MPs to lose their seat in the upcoming election.

The Liberals have 13 Victorian MPs.
