It's hard to say what impact that Duterte has actually had on drugs since a lot of Philppines people like to big note themselves and tell you how many drug dealers their policeman relatives have killed. They're mostly idiots there.

China should do them a favour and take them over, they could be a decent nation.

Phillipinos are one of the most subservient races on the planet, Duterte has the IQ of a boiled cabbage yet still somehow has managed to get elected as President and  maintain the admiration of the Phillipino people. Only idiots could believe that the majority of the big time drug dealers he has gunned down also coincidentally all happen to be his political opponents. He is just copying Putins tactics, playing the strong man and going after his political opponents in the "peoples cause of corruption"

The Philippine people working offshore on their 2yr. contract may seem subservient, however, if you relate subservience to laziness, the filipinos are right up there.

Looking at the demographics of the country, it's not hard to see why. With over 7,000 islands and an abundance of fruits, vegetables, seafood, rice, bamboo building materials and no required heating, most reside in rural areas and can quite happily live off the land without the need for anybody to tell them what to do or when to do it.
As well as being rated the 4th laziest, they are also rated as the 3rd most happy people in the world.

If they find themselves in any legal strife, they just take off to another island or remote location somewhere, never to be seen again.
Policing so many islands is nigh on impossible when nobody needs to hold down a traditional job as we know it. Short term cash jobs are good enough to supply them with some cheap brandy and maybe a guitar for entertainment.
Shabu (ice) has been a problem as it was widely available and not so relatively expensive.
The fear factor of Duterte may have slowed it, or merely forced it more underground for the time being.

They're generally very friendly and helpful people and education is very important to them. They certainly do piss me off sometimes because they have a culture of "grab and go", and a lot of them lack responsibility as we know it.
