Cummins's 'stand alone' performance is a good example of how bad Australian Cricket is.
When you get 'one' player holding the fort, while all others capitulate - then you have a side of 'individuals', not a 'team'.
Next test it might be Marsh, then Starc, etc.
This has been an ongoing trait ever since Clarke took captaincy (stole it from Katich because he sucked dickk to the Media).
During Taylor/Waugh - golden age. Everyone was part of a 'Team' - they 'all' fired. While Warne or McGrath were getting wickets, the Batsman were also getting centuries and everyone took catches.
But now - its just another year of 'One Man Show', in a team sport.
Cummins's effort isn't anything great - the rest of the team has made him look better than he really has been. Its a sad predicament.
*I wish to also highlight another 10 years of stupid Selection.
You should never choose a 20/20 Batting sensation into a Test Lineup. It's a whole different ball-game. You would think they learned something from Lehman's lackluster performance in Test, from a magnificent 'Super 8's' career.
Test Batsmen are 'defensive' (because the Bowlers are attacking)
20/20 Batsmen are 'attacking' (because the Bowlers are defensive).
Why they choose 'short game' Cricketers for the lengthy Test version is beyond me. These Selectors don't even know their own game of cricket anymore.
*edit] another good example of why Women, in Australian Sport are more 'professional' and doing this country proud. Australian 'male' cricket is definately 'over-paid'.
