Dowry ~ India

So....here is an interesting current event.

Link.

This deal was done between Families.....a debt of honour created....one even recognised in Australian Law, obscurely.

He does his bit.....and..........The Bride's Family reneges.

Discuss.

Burn him, throw acid in his face!

Quote:
A man slapped his wife of four months, dragged her by the hair and threatened to kill her because he was under pressure from his Indian family to extract a $20,000 dowry payment from her, a Queensland court has heard.

Sounds the opposite of what you are proposing.

Did your wife's family pay dowry? Did you attack her because it wan't paid? Or was it paid?

Why? All I'm asking is if she had a dowry. It wasn't me who said "TIB".

Now that we are past that. The "man" should be disolved in acid and flushed.

edit: This was the proposal if I'm not wrong.

1.  I have not posted TIB in this Thread.
2.  You asked "Did your wife's family pay dowry? Did you attack her because it wan't paid? Or was it paid?"  Leave my Family out of this.  It is not only none of your business, it is also very personally offensive.

What did I propose, CC?

1. you have mentioned TIB many times, it does not have to be in this thread but it is pertinent.
2. Not out custom, the wife is the prize, not her money.
3. See edit of previous post.

I would call it more a point of view. I didn't make it.

Export him after a term in general population.

You know, in gaol, people are asked why they are there and to provide documents to support their claims. IE, Show me your brief and if they won't...

So....what do you do if someone does not pay up $10,000.00 they agreed to pay you?

Obviously I would beat the woman! You go subcontinents!

Take it to court perhaps and have it thrown out. Then what... Of course! Beat the woman! What else to do?

Are you saying this is another culture that is incompatible and should not be allowed entry?

edit: You know how I have said I have Indians in my family? They have all been Indian women as wives, not men/husbands. Perhaps there is something in that.

"Atta boy.....sarcasm."  Yay.

How about you stop being a smart arse and deal with the issue.  A deal is done....one which no Court would immediately enforce without a High Court ruling.....a debt is due.....a word was given....a bloke keeps to the bargain.....the other party reneges.

Where to?

Take it to court while the guy rots in prison for abuse. If you break a contract(if we even take it as such here) I cannot beat the crap out of someone who did not make the contract to enforce the contract. Did she make the contract? Was it their parents? The guy belongs at the bottom of the harbour, there is no two ways about it.
