Bin Laden Hunter: Trump the Real Threat

Osama Bin Laden Hunter Slams Trump Behavior As ‘Greatest Threat To Our Democracy’

Retired Navy Adm. William McRaven spoke out after Trump falsely called him a “Hillary Clinton backer” and said bin Laden should have been caught sooner.

Quote:
Newly minted Chancellor William McRaven has officially joined the political establishment scurrying to cover-up corruption at the University of Texas.

Despite facing intimidation, censure, impeachment and even indictment by state legislators seeking to silence him, UT Regent Wallace Hall obtained the necessary votes from his colleagues to request information related to the Kroll investigative report.

It vindicated Hall (for the second time) and confirmed what his original investigation and others uncovered—political influence corrupted the admissions process at UT and UT Law School, allowing the admission of under-qualified applicants with political connections.

McRaven blatantly refused to grant the Regent’s request.

The Dallas Morning News recently quoted McRaven, “If you want to reopen all the information that we got from the Kroll report and take a look at all that data, I’m not inclined to go there,” he said. The DMN says they’ve also requested related documentation.

McRaven joins a long line of politically connected insiders obstructing the review of documents related to several scandals, including House Speaker Joe Straus and State Reps. Dan Flynn (R-Canton) and Carol Alverado (D-Houston), who initially led the unwarranted attack on Hall.
They hope Texans will simply move along and forget what’s already been exposed, including Hall’s disgraceful persecution.

But more importantly, they aim to stop the release of public information substantiating the Kroll report’s findings, the details of which is vital in answering several key questions still looming.

Which legislators played a role in corrupting the admissions process, and to what extent? Who else inside the University is responsible for enabling political corruption?

McRaven’s obstruction is offensive. But even more troubling is the fact that Texas lawmakers have all but brushed the admissions scandal at UT under the rug.

Their deafening silence is shameful—it also speaks volumes about the depths of the problem.

you sure can pick them aia..

The Mechanic's right. What's to say Obama didn't put Osama up in some luxury compound in Dubai? How would we know?

They have a lot in common, you know. Spoilt rich kid from a property developing family who got where they are today by paying off politicians and laundering money from dubious foreign sources -

Actually, not that bit.

No, they have very similar names. Obama, Osama. Has anyone else noticed that?

Pakistan had no clue bin Laden was living in Abbottabad. On the night of the bin Laden operation, US officials eavesdropped on the communications of top Pakistani officials who were completely surprised by the news that bin Laden was living in Abbottabad.

Bin Laden wasn't using any form of electronic communication and relied instead on handheld messages delivered by his trusted courier. As a result, even senior leaders of al Qaeda didn't know where bin Laden was hiding.

And of course Trump has tried to say I told you so. On Twitter: “Of course we should have captured Osama Bin Laden long before we did. I pointed him out in my book just BEFORE the attack on the World Trade Center. President Clinton famously missed his shot. We paid Pakistan Billions of Dollars & they never told us he was living there. Fools!”

But the book, with only a passing mention of bin Laden, did not do more than point to the al-Qaida leader as one of many threats to U.S. security. Trump’s book, “The America We Deserve,” came out more than 1½ years before al-Qaida’s deadly attack on the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001, not just before.

During the Presidential campaign Trump boasted about his soothsayer abilities regarding bin Laden, stating he said in his book "you better take him out" (which he did not say) and that he “predicted Osama bin Laden” back when “nobody really knew who he was.” Bin Laden was well known by the CIA, other national security operations, experts and the public long before 9/11.

McRaven's crime, that has earned him the ire of Trump, is that he publicly defended former CIA director, John Brennan, in August when the President revoked Brennan's security clearance because of his criticism of Trump.

McRaven has also stood up for the press, which Trump routinely derides as "the enemy of the people." In a speech in Texas last year McRaven said, "This sentiment may be the greatest threat to democracy in my lifetime."

The whole issue of the hunt for bin Laden is a sore subject for  thin skin Trump because the final countdown for the operation took place during the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner when Obama roasted Trump mercilessly for his penchant for spreading conspiracy theories, such as the so-called "birther" conspiracy.

Side note: Raven is starting the "girther" conspiracy. Trump's doctor reckons he is, wait for it, "239" pounds  Grin why would you lie about that? He is in his 70's, it's OK to be a fatty. When you are that old.

Mr Trump can't be expected to know everything in his books, Raven. His writers just give him a brief outline.

That'll be in Mr Trump's next book, you'll see.
